The chapter starts with Chako meeting with Reiji. At night, in rainy weather, Reiji was on the bridge thinking about whether what she did was right or not. Reiji was passing by and saw Chako on his way. When he calls for Chako, she smiles at him and gets depressed again.

Reiji came closer to her and saw that she was holding a knife in her hand. He tells her it’s cold out there and asks if she wants him to walk her home. After hearing “home,” Chako looks at her knife and tells him that she left home and ran away. Reiji remembers the previous incident where Chako was trying to kill him.

Choko tells him this is the first time she has seen him since they left each other on that bridge in Tokyo and asks him if they should start where they left off. Reiji drops his umbrella, snatches the knife from Chako, and throws it into the nearby river. He smiles at her and asks if she wants to come to his place.

When they reach home, Reiji asks Chako if she wants to eat something, and Chako says to him she’s not hungry. Chako asks Reiji if he has seen the web article from Shinshun, and Reiji says yeah. She tells him that she’s sure that he already knows that she’s the one who sold them the photo.

She tells him she took the day he brought her to Mr. Esemori’s house, and after he left and Esemori came back, he passed out right away. Esemori threw up all over Chako’s uniform, and Reiji never came back. Chako was so irritated, so while Esemori was sleeping, she got next to him and took that picture.

Chako asks Reiji that after they split up in Tokyo, did her meet Nagi. Reiji tells her he got contacted with Esemori while he was looking for her, and when he went to see him, he saw her. Chako didn’t know what she was doing at her home. Reiji was getting frustrated, so Chako called him inside her futon to sleep.
