Bones of Crows Preview
Aline Spears is a Cree pianist whose life goes upside down as they’re separated from their place of residence and family home along with her brothers and sisters and are forced to live in a residential home. Spears eventually becomes a World War II code talker, a key element for strategic intelligence communications for the Allies against the Axis powers. After the conflict, Aline and her husband must deal with all the bad things that happened to them, which include separation, abuse, both physical and of sexual kind, as well as traumas from their childhood.
In her quest, Aline strives to reconnect with Perseverance, her sister, whose memories of her haunt her from the times they were forced to live at that residence. And from there, she will pick up on lots of challenges as she faces demons from her past, and present in the face of all the bad things that once were considered normal, but are now in a deep process of revision ahead of a future where minorities are not subject to those kinds of excesses from those in power.
