One of the most hilarious and action-packed adult animated series is finally coming back with its fourth season, to make us laugh until over eyes are out. Viewers are excited to see what new adventures their favorite characters, Bogdan Boner and Mariusz, are going to show up with, and that is why they are anticipating the release date of the upcoming Bogdan Boner: Egzorcysta Season 4 Episode 1.
This wacky Polish animated film introduces us to a motley crew of demon hunters – the hapless Marcin, his sidekick Domino (a demon himself, oddly enough), and their perpetually inebriated boss Bogden Boner.
This trio makes the Three Stooges look coordinated. Domino failed Demon Training 101 if he doesn’t even know basic demon anatomy. Meanwhile, Boner handles a gun as well as a kindergartner with a juice box and keeps stiffing poor Marcin on his pay. But a guy’s gotta earn a living, even if it means battling the forces of darkness for an irresponsible cheapskate.
Review and Recap
Trouble’s brewing in the underworld, as horny teenage demons discover the joys of underage drinking. Lucifer’s had enough of these drunken shenanigans, so he hiked the drinking age from 18 to 21. The demon teens aren’t too pleased about this new prohibition, so they start wreaking havoc above ground, stealing booze wherever they can.
The police chief, at his wit’s end, brings in our bumbling heroes to lure the young demons into a trap. Boner’s brilliant plan? Throw a rave with Domino as DJ, and blast them with holy water. Great idea, except they underestimated how many teens would show up, and quickly run out of holy water.
It’s a demon kegger from hell! When all seems lost, they get bailed out by the scarily devout Father Natan, who can’t say “ass” without giggling. What a crew! Good luck saving the world, fellas.
This raunchy Polish animated romp looks so similar to South Park, that I half expected to see Cartman and the gang pop up. The animation style is a dead ringer, down to the crude construction paper cutouts. I couldn’t stop thinking about South Park the whole time and kept wanting to switch over and watch some good old SP instead.
But while it apes the South Park aesthetic, this show stands apart with its absurd cast of characters battling demons from the depths of hell. The hapless demon hunters are especially amusing, like rejects from a Supernatural-South Park crossover. Swear-happy, hard-drinking, with violence aplenty – they’re like Bobby Singer meets Cartman.
The episodic structure is a double-edged sword. These bite-sized bursts of mayhem are easily digestible, but so darn short I blinked and missed one while making tea. They pack a lot of chaotic insanity into a tight window but leave you wanting more. I’m not sure the shaggy premise could sustain full half-hour episodes, though. Sometimes, less is more with certain high-concept comedies.
I never laughed uproariously but enjoyed the occasional giggle fit. This show won’t be everyone’s cup of tea; it’s tailor-made for fans of things like Brickleberry or Paradise PD. The humor is gleefully juvenile, poking fun at any and all taboos. If that’s your jam, you’ll have a devilishly good time. Otherwise, you might find it more hellish.
It was a fun diversionary romp, even if it never quite escaped the long shadow of its inspiration. I admired the balls-to-the-wall insanity, even when the jokes misfired. Definitely worth a peek for adult animation fans; don’t expect an animated second coming.
