Bo Ra! Deborah, also called True To Love, is a lightweight romantic K-drama that includes an unexpected love story between the characters that showed no related signs in the beginning.
The first episode of Bo Ra! Deborah Season 1 got aired on 12 April 2023, while the last one got aired on 25 May 2023 on the South Korean national paid television network called ENA. It also gets available on Amazon Prime Video. The series had ups and downs in TV viewership ratings.
Bo Ra! Deborah Season 1 revolves around the three main characters. Yeon Bo-Ra (played by Yoo In-Na) is an honest and witty writer who goes by the pen name Deborah. She has written a best-selling book and provides dating advice.
Lee Su-Hyeok (played by Yoon Hyun-Min) is an unpredictable man and a publishing planner who is not much interested in having a love life. Deborah wants Noh Joo-wan (played by Hwang Chan-sung) to propose to her for a wedding. However, the owner of a well-known cricket franchise does not like to get committed to one woman.

Bo Ra! Deborah Season 1 Recap
Deborah wanted Noh Joo-wan, her ex-boyfriend, to propose to her, but he showed no related signs. So, she decided to do it. However, Deborah caught him cheating. She keeps coaching others but gets in turmoil in her personal life.
Deborah meets Lee Su-Hyeok, who witnesses her ups and downs. She starts feeling something for him but hesitates to confess her feelings. Meanwhile, Joo-wan tries to get into Deborah’s life by keeping Lee Su-Hyeok away.
Lee Su-Hyeok does not mind because he knows Deborah used to like Joo-wan. Deborah confesses her feelings to Su-Hyeok after getting no confession from his side. He remains silent right after the confession but speaks out when Deborah is about to leave.
Su-Hyeok explains to her that he cannot express himself and does not know whether they must date. It disappoints Deborah, and she finally gets out of there. On the other hand, Joo-wan takes her on a date and proposes to her marriage with a wedding ring.
Deborah has made a decision. She does not accept Joo-wan’s proposal though she used to dream of it earlier. Meanwhile, the girl with whom Joo-wan cheated Deborah, Da-mi, appears by tracking his location.
Deborah uses the opportunity to get out of there and finds Su-Hyeok on the way home. Su-Hyeok finally agrees that he loves her, and they kiss. They go on a date where he proposes to Deborah with a ring she had been dreaming of.
Yu-Jeong, who had been thinking of divorce, gives Jin-woo one more chance, according to Su-jin’s advice. She overhears Jin-woo talking about his married life to Jin-ho. Finally, they pour their hearts out to each other and start a new life.
Bo-mi and Jin-ho decide to get married at Christmas. She gives birth to a pair of twins, according to a photo shown at the end of the last episode. Meanwhile, U-ri again confesses her love to Sang-jin, and he decides to give her a chance. They take their relationship ahead step by step.
Bo Ra! Deborah Season 2: Everything We Know So Far
The writers of Bo Ra! Deborah Season 1 did not hint at another season. Similarly, the last episode (the fourteenth episode) ended with a happy ending keeping no chance for continuation. We know that many K-dramas do not return with another season, though a handful is an exception.
The first season got a lot of controversy and interest. Many characters appeared out of the blue exactly when they were needed. Deborah was always in perfect make-up. These things made the series unrealistic. Many characters kept rejecting the others. These points can be taken as motivation for improvement instead of criticism.
Bo Ra! Deborah Season 1 has more positive reviews than negative ones because they appreciate the raw love and emotions shown throughout the series. As it was a rom-com, the humorous part of the series added some crisp.
The cancellation or renewal of the second season has not been officially announced yet. Still, we cannot lose hope because the production company and the broadcasting network (or streaming platform) can move towards one more season according to the series’ success and audience demand.
We will like to watch more episodes on the married life of Deborah and Su-Hyeok if the show makers plan for another season.
