Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity is taking a one-month break before its final two episodes, and creator Tite Kubo has publicly responded to the delay. The anime’s production committee confirmed that Episodes 49 and 50 were postponed to allow the staff to further improve the final stretch and deliver the conclusion in better shape.
The decision comes immediately after Episode 48, “THE END TWO WORLD,” which leaves Ichigo Kurosaki facing the aftermath of Yhwach’s overwhelming power. The official Bleach website confirms that the anime is now approaching the decisive confrontation between Ichigo and the Quincy King.
Tite Kubo Reacts to Bleach’s Final Episodes Delay
Following the announcement, Kubo addressed fans through his Klub Outside updates. He acknowledged that the anime would take a month-long break and expressed his support for the production team.
“So, the anime will be taking a one-month break after this!”
Kubo wrote, before wishing the staff well and telling them to take care of
“your backs and your eyes”
while continuing their work.
The official production committee similarly explained that the additional time is being used to
“enhance quality toward the climax”
and present the final episodes in the best possible form.
When Will Bleach Episodes 49 and 50 Release?
The Japanese broadcast schedule now places Episode 49 on October 19 and Episode 50 on October 26. Streaming releases follow on October 20 and October 27 respectively, according to the official website.
During the break, the anime will also air a Climax Selection featuring previously released episodes centered on Ichigo and Yhwach’s journey toward their final confrontation.
The delay could be particularly important because the final cour has already expanded beyond the manga in several areas. The official story has now reached a point where Yhwach’s threat extends across the Three Worlds, setting up an ending that could deliver material beyond what readers experienced in Kubo’s original conclusion.
