Lisa, the breakout singer, dancer, and actress from the immensely popular K-pop group BLACKPINK, has officially inked a deal with RCA Records for her solo endeavors, as announced by the involved parties on Wednesday (April 10).
This agreement, a collaborative effort between Lisa, her management and creative entity LLOUD Co., and RCA, ensures that she maintains ownership of her master recordings.
Despite her monumental success with BLACKPINK, Lisa has garnered significant attention with her solo releases, particularly her singles “Lalisa” and “Money,” both of which soared onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
It’s worth noting that she will continue to contribute to BLACKPINK’s recordings under Interscope.
“I’m super excited to be joining the RCA family, and I am confident they are the best team to create a bigger movement in my solo career,” Lisa said in a statement about the news.
“Looking forward to showing the world everything we have been preparing.”
Lisa’s most notable contributions thus far have undoubtedly been with BLACKPINK, the group she’s been a part of under the YG Entertainment/Interscope banner.
Their impact has been solidified with the release of two studio albums in recent years: “The Album” in 2021, debuting impressively at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, followed by “Born Pink” in 2022, which claimed the coveted No. 1 spot on the chart.
Further solidifying their place in history, BLACKPINK made headlines as the inaugural K-pop act to headline Coachella in 2023.
Transitioning into her solo career, Lisa has made significant waves, setting numerous records along the way.
Notably, she secured four Guinness World Records, with her single “Money” achieving the latest milestone by becoming the first solo K-pop track to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.
Adding to her accolades, it was confirmed earlier this year by an HBO spokesperson that Lisa will make her acting debut in the upcoming third season of the acclaimed series “The White Lotus.”
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Lisa and LLOUD Co.,” RCA chairman/CEO Peter Edge and president/COO John Fleckenstein said in a joint statement.
“Lisa is a multidimensional talent and an irrefutable global force. We are thrilled to welcome her and her team to the RCA Records family.”
