Black Mirror Season 6 Episode 1 release date is what fans have been desperately waiting for for four years. As it turns out, the wait is almost over as Netflix has finally announced the time around which they are going to release the new episodes. This is an anthology drama series which has originated in Britain. Charlie Booker has created the show for Netflix.
With every episode of the series, we get to see a different genre being explored. Although, the common theme in them all remains the dystopic futuristic era that uses a lot of science fiction technology. This all comes under the umbrella of speculative fiction. The plot of the show is based on The Twilight Zone, where we witness various technologies being used.
These provide a remedy for the social issues that are seen in the stories. Initially, the program was made for Channel 4, but it was later acquired by Netflix for its service. It has earned a lot of love from critics and fans that even led ir win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Television Movie.
Right now, it has been confirmed that there will be five episodes in total in the upcoming season. These will be graced by some of the very notable names in the industry, such as Annie Murphy and Salma Hayek Pinault. Even in the previous episodes of the show, we have seen how some of the A-list celebrities have joined the cast. These were Miley Cyrus and Anthony Mackie.
Black Mirror Season 6 – Details
As for the episodes, they can be watched in any order because, let’s face it, the anthology series is one of a kind and allows fans to be a part of something bigger. There are various easter eggs that are left in each episode which might provide a conclusion to a situation that will happen in future entries or bind them all together. It is very much like an in-universe show that has set apart an era for itself and some of its crazy stories to take place.
Like back in Black Mirror Season 5 Episode 3, starring Miley Cyrus, titled Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too, we saw Rachel and Jack living with their father. The parent is trying to work on a device that will provide an alternative approach to the mouse trap. As the family celebrates its 15th birthday of Ashley, she asks for an AI toy named Ashley Too.
It is based on a popular poster. Later at school, she also dances to a song by a pop star but falls on the stage and is so embarrassed by the whole incident that she leaves. The entire episode revolves around how AI is based on Ashley and starts to malfunction when the pop star herself is in a coma. Soon, the humans try to devise a plan in order to save the pop star after being made aware of the situation.
They use all the tech-savvy gadgets for their mission and are finally able to save Ashley from her aunt, who was trying to control her life. The teaser for the upcoming episodes shows us how crazy the journey is about to be. I mean, there will be robots, of course, but they will be specialized in AI. As a matter of fact, with the rising growth of Chat GPT and other software based on AI, the upcoming season might look a bit more relatable than it did five years ago. Truly, the world has evolved in a beautiful way.
