The anime film is directed by Ayataka Tanemura and produced by Aniplex. Yuki Tabaka supervised and handled the original character designs, with Itsuko Takeda designing the characters, Minako Seki composing the music, and Johnny Onda and Ai Orii writing the scripts.
The cast includes Konrad Leto, voiced by Toshihiko Seki, Milly Maxwell, voiced by Marie Litoyo, Jester, voiced by Fumiya Takahashi, Princia, voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro and Edward, voiced by Houchu Ohtsuka.
The Plot of the Film
Yuki Tabaka previously mentioned that the film is set in the same universe but is not a continuation of the anime series, meaning it includes a new story altogether.
Set in the Clover Kingdom, a world where magic rules all, the anime film revolves around Asta, a young orphan who dreams of becoming the Wizard King, the highest-ranking magical user in the kingdom. But unlike his friends, Asta has no magical abilities whatsoever, making him an outcast in the kingdom.
Asta is determined to surpass his limits and pursue his dreams no matter what. Along with his rival and closest friend, Yuno, who possesses exceptional magical talent, they embark on a journey to become Wizard King.
However, Conrad Leto, the former Wizard King who was once loved by the people of the Clover Kingdom, wishes to resurrect Edward Avalaché, Princia Funnybunny, and Jester Garandaros to take over the Clover Kingdom.
Black Clover is all about believing that no matter how tough things get, you can always “surpass your limits.” The story mainly revolves around friendship, intense battle scenes, and improving your skill.
The anime film got an overall 8.5 rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The action sequences have forever hyped up fans, leaving them at the edge of their seats with smiles on their faces. The movie can be streamed on Netflix worldwide!
