Cricket Green, a 10-year-old country boy, and the family, the Greens, relocate to the Big City to live with his grandmother, Alice, after abandoning their old farm, the focus of the television series. The Greens have fun and adventure there, meet new people, and work to defend their farm from any dangers that may arise.
Cricket endeavors to make the absolute most of his stay in Big City while adjusting to these new circumstances. Cricket decides to send a chicken beyond space when they move into their new house in Big City in an effort to make an impact on his neighbors. He enlists the aid of his odd sister Tilly and a fresh city acquaintance named Remy. But despite his best efforts, he always seems to make his father. Bill look terrible in their eyes.
“Steak Night”: Cricket unintentionally leaves the steak at the awaiting station while riding the subway home after the Greens purchase steak for their customary Steak Night. Cricket pushes his family through all of the numerous checkpoints in an attempt to rescue their supper since he doesn’t really want their first evening to be spoiled.
As part of the Green household’s transition to adulthood, Cricket is required to wrestle a wild animal, but when he is unable to locate any dangerous animals in the city, he decides to give up his family name. …or does he? Cricket persuades Bill to convert his pickup truck into a food cart selling French fries, but their good fortune is marred when Cricket picks a cursed blue potato.

When the Green family and Remy go to a nearby restaurant, Tilly gets her favorite dish, Cricket requests his “regular,” a meat sandwich, and Remy tries to make a purchase at the gift shop. The pie that Gramma confronts Patti, the baker, is followed by an admission that Tilly’s preference for her pie made her envious, but Tilly consoles her. Cricket quickly regrets choosing a typical.
Everyone likes it when Cricket develops a rat tail, but Nancy finds it repulsive and tries to persuade him to somehow get rid of it. Remy joins Gramma as her knitting apprentice, quickly showing that he is adept at the craft by constructing the ideal glove.
Nancy acknowledges that she despises Cricket’s different haircut but is held back out of fear of becoming her father. Cricket trims the rat’s tail to make Nancy happy. Tilly is getting ready for her supposed-to-come ceremony in the book “Frilly Tilly,” but she doesn’t want to do things the way her grandmother expected her to.
After witnessing Tilly and everyone else unhappy, Gramma reveals that she was prohibited from following tradition and lets Tilly be original. Tilly is initially persuaded by Gramma that deviating from custom will be letting her family down.
Cricket is “Montaged”: He desires to ride a wild sheep at the ranch but won’t take his time. He uses a flashback sequence to expedite the procedure at Remy’s recommendation. Instead, he is trapped in a succession of compilations along with Remy and Tilly. As Cricket chooses to practice honestly for sheep riding, she comes to the realization that there aren’t any shortcuts, and the happenings of the series turn out to be a dream.
