That’s a wrap for the hit SBS drama, A Business Proposal. Fans are still wiping their tears after witnessing the beautiful ending. Inspired by the famous ongoing webtoon titled ‘The Official Blind Date‘ by Hae Hwa, the kdrama has become an all-time favorite for many. Furthermore, A Business Proposal was cooked up with all the perfect ingredients. The story had just the right amount of comedy, drama, romance, and a pinch of mystery. Additionally, A Business Proposal was directed by Park Seon Ho, who has once again proved that he is the master of directing romantic comedies.
After Birth Of A Beauty, Suspicious Partner, and My Strange Hero, A Business Proposal will be another great addition to his filmography. The credits for the brilliant screenplay of A Business Proposal go to Han Sol Hee and Hong-Bo Hee who are well known for Ugly Miss Young Ae, All My Love, and High Kick! The Revenge Of The Short Legged. The show gave two us two of the most beautiful couples. Shin Ha Ri and Kang Tae Mu and Jin Young Seo and Cha Sung Hoon’s love stories will live in our heads rent-free. In this article, we will be listing down all the best moments from ‘A Business Proposal’ that reignited our hope in love.
1. Jin Young Seo and Cha Sung Hoon’s First Encounter
Everyone went on and on about how hilarious Shin Ha Ri and Kang Tae Mu’s first meeting was. But what really stole the cake is Jin Young Seo and Cha Sung Hoon’s first encounter. While Jin Young Seo was at a grocery store, she ran into a kid who was being mischievous with a marker. She asked the mother to not worry and explained to the kid how if he runs around with a marker, someone’s outfit might get ruined.
Witnessing the entire encounter while smiling to himself was Cha Sung Hoon. Outside the store, they bump into each other, and as soon as Jin Young Seo looks at him, she thinks ‘Wow! this is the man of my dreams’.
And just like the rest of us, Jin Young Seo gave a speech to her best friend about how the cute guy at the grocery store is the man that she is destined to be with. Later in the story, Cha Sung Hoon reveals that the first words that went on in his head when he saw her at the grocery store were Wow! this is the woman of my dreams. The most beautiful circle in a storyline.
2. Shin Ha Ri Woos Kang Tae Mu On Their First Date
This might not be completely true. But if we keep aside the fact that Shin Ha Ri went on the date as Jin Young Seo and exaggerated her entire personality, then Shin Ha Ri did end up wooing Kang Tae Mu on their first date. We don’t think anyone will ever be able to forget the lines ‘Rachel and Samantha will be upset’ anytime soon. Moreover, the fact that Shin Ha Ri tried to do everything in her capacity to get Kang Tae Mu to dislike her but he ended up asking to marry her, will always be the best comedic twist. Kang Tae Mu had been reluctant to go on blind dates from the very start but after meeting Shin Ha Ri he could not help but smile at her antics and chose to marry her.
But for obvious reasons, Kang Tae Mu ends up getting rejected by Shin Ha Ri. Kang Tae Mu who is known for being exceptionally good at everything does not take the rejection well. And a spoonful of salt gets added to his wounds when he realizes that he was conned and the woman he thought was Jin Young Seo was not actually Jin Young Seo. This was the start of the tom and jerry chase between Shin Ha Ri and Kang Tae Mu.
3. Shin Ha Ri and Kang Tae Mu Attend A Concert
One of the best moments from the entire series was the concert that Shin Ha Ri and Kang Tae Mu were forced to attend. After Kang Tae Mu discovered that the girl he met was not Jin-Young Seo, Shin Ha Ri pretended that she was Shin Geum Hi. Furthermore, Kang Tae Mu gave her a detailed contract in which Shin Geum Hi had to be his fake girlfriend and meet his grandfather. On one such meeting, Shin Ha Ri and Kang Tae Mu were forced to go to a concert together when he noticed tickets in Shin Ha Ri’s purse. The tickets were a gift from Shin Ha Ri’s unrequited love of seven years, Min Woo.
Throughout the concert, Shin Ha Ri kept getting tears in her eyes thinking of all the things she did for Min Woo but he still ended up choosing his ex who left him. The best part however came after the concert, when Kang Tae Mu tried to awkwardly comfort her. He was surprised to hear that Shin Geum Hi was in love with her best friend for seven years and does not regret telling him her feelings. He also gave her a handkerchief to wipe her tears. This was one of the very first real moments between the two of them. Shin Ha Ri got to know that Kang Tae Mu likes corn dogs and Kang Tae Mu learned about her one-sided love.
4. Jin Young Seo, Cha Sung Hoon, and Lines
Kang Tae Mu and Shin Ha Ri had to go through multiple identity reveals which took them longer to end up together. On the other hand, Cha Sung Hoon just kept on drawing a line between himself and Jin Young Seo when they could have happily started dating ages ago. Additionally, when Jin Young Seo found out that her next-door neighbor was the man she is destined to be with from the grocery store, her happiness knew no bounds. However, she was put off by how curt and formal he was being. Her various efforts had no effect on him. The two got close when Jin Young Seo nearly peed in his car. What a great start to a love story.
Two days later, Cha Sung Hoon and Jin Young Seo were found kissing on the streets. And this time it was Cha Sung Hoon’s turn to ask why Jin Young Seo was so awkward and kept drawing lines. Turns out that after spending the night at his house, Jin Young Seo completely blacked out and did not remember a thing that happened. Thankfully, unlike Cha Sung Hoon who kept using Kang Tae Mu as an excuse to not talk to her, Jin Young Seo was quick to clear up the misunderstanding. And BOOM, within seven episodes itself, A Business Proposal blessed us with the most swoon-worthy couple.
5. Jin Young Seo’s and Cha Sung Hoon’s First Fight
After Jin Young Seo found out that the man her obnoxious cousin is in love with is actually her boyfriend, to say that she lost her cool would be an understatement. Furthermore, after the incident, Jin Young Seo started avoiding Cha Sung Hoon like a plague. She also called Cha Sung Hoon a slave to Kang Tae Mu’s family. However, when she found the two spending a nice day together, she decided to follow them with Shin Ha Ri following suit.
If Jin Young Seo was not already regretting her words then after discovering Cha Sung Hoon’s past she must have. It was revealed that Cha Sung Hoon used to stay at the orphanage that Kang Tae Mu’s parents used to donate to. Just a while before they passed away, they took Cha Sung Hoon in and he has stayed by Kang Tae Mu’s side ever since. The meeting between Cha Sung Hoon’s mother and Jin Young Seo was so warm that it melted all our hearts.
6. The Proposals
When we say that no series will ever be able to match up to the ‘A Business Proposal’ proposals, we mean it! Both the couples had the most tooth-rotting sweet proposals. Jin Young Seo found a ring in Cha Sung Hoon’s car and immediately perked up and asked him to marry her. Cha Sung Hoon stopped the car right there and proposed to her on the beautiful Seoul bridge. Kang Tae Mu returned from the United States after a whole year and decided to propose Shin Ha Rin on the same day. The two exchanged rings in the famous cherry blossom park that we are all familiar with. Sweet and simple yet managed to make us all swoon.
