The final episode of Below Deck Down Under Season 2 is airing this week, and we’re finally going to see a few things come to a conclusion, either because they need an ending or because we’ve been waiting for them to happen so long. Take, for example, Tzarina’s meltdown, which I’ll cover further down the line, Jaimee’s crying away from the cameras from the psat episode or the final dinner between Tzarina and Joao.
There are a lot of things that are melting down aboard that boat, and today, ahead of the season finale, I’m going to try and cover the most important ones. That way, you stay up to date on what’s coming in this finale for the sophomore season of Below Deck Down Under.
Below Deck Down Under Season 2 Episode 17 Recap
Jaimee went to the bathroom to cry and avoid getting caught on camera with tears in her eyes following Harry’s observations that she took way too personally. Harry was talking about Margot. But I guess I picked that one the wrong way. In any case, it was up to Joao and Tzarina to try and comfort a tearful Jaimee, a job that Margot and Aesha couldn’t do.
Tzarina and Joao finally go out for a date, and while things kick off well, sharing food and some thoughts about the future, Tzarina grills Joao about his past, she says that she doesn’t think she’s changed, and Joao feels he’s not being taken for real. So, when Joao asks Tzarina to tell him what she thinks of him, she replies that she thinks he’s fake. He’s shocked. And it feels like this romance is over.
Culver is again doing his act of not paying the footing bill, and Luka picks up the tab. We see a little Culver drama, and we’re likely to see more in the season’s finale when Jaimee and Luka’s flirting keeps going.
A day after, Joao feels terribly angry, and he doesn’t know why, or at least that’s what he’s pretending; he knows Tzarina struck a nerve calling him fake. And Tzarina is feeling lonely from shunning Joao. It’s like she shot herself in the foot. That kind of self-sabotage is common among high achievers.
Tzarina learns that the guests want some teppanyaki food night, and she doesn’t want to do it; she asks others to go out and help her, and they say now. The guests aren’t that demanding, save for a complaint when Jaimee makes a mistake with a dress, which raises complaints. After that, the guests take a swim and chill and the beach, while Jaimee decorates the yacht in a Japanese fashion.
When Tzarina tells Captain Jason that she’s not trained in teppanyaki cuisine, Jason brushes her off and takes the “Just do it” approach. And she must. And we’re left with a cliffhanger for the season’s finale.
