WWE’s attempt to trademark Becky Lynch’s “Big Time Becks” nickname has hit a snag. Another party already has trademark rights to a similar phrase, and they’re opposing WWE’s application.
This legal battle goes back to 2006, when the opposing party first contacted WWE about trademark infringement. Despite ongoing communication and a failed settlement attempt, WWE filed for the “Big Time Becks” trademark in 2021.
Becky Lynch Back to “The Man”
The opposing party then filed an official opposition in November 2023. WWE missed the deadline to respond, claiming they weren’t aware of it due to the Christmas holiday. However, given their large legal department, this explanation is being challenged.
As of today, WWE is no longer using “Big Time Becks” for Becky Lynch. She’s back to her previous nickname, “The Man,” and remains a top star on WWE’s Raw brand.
WWE missed the deadline to respond to the opposition. The outcome of the legal battle will determine whether WWE can ever use “Big Time Becks” or if they’ll need to create a new nickname for Becky Lynch in the future.
