Tatsuhiko will try to confess to Nico in Beat & Motion Chapter 14 after he realizes that he really wants to spend more time with Nico outside of work and that he wants to get to know her better. Tatsuhiko was a dreamer and he had a creative streak within himself but somehow, both the dreams he had fell through for one reason or the other.
Tatsuhiko’s confidence was crushed when some peers made fun of his sketchbook and he gave up on being an animator. The band he joined later on in life was also disbanded and his second dream was brutally crushed as well.
It was enough to send Tatsuhiko spiraling down but meeting Nico Kashiwagi changed a lot of things for him. Nico was a spunky and passionate about music and her enthusiasm lit something up within Tatsuhiko’s heart.
He no longer felt alone and depressed, and he began working on becoming an animator once again with a renewed enthusiasm. For Tatsuhiko, Nico was like a breath of fresh air and he realized that he wanted to spend more time her and get to know all her stories even outside work. Tatsuhiko wanted to meet Nico often even if they both were busy people.

Beat & Motion: Chapter 13 Recap
In the previous chapter of Beat & Motion, Nico invites Tatsuhiko to a festival and both of them attend it together. They are amazed by the beautiful lights and the bustle of the festival and Nico comments that she wants to wear a Yukata next year.
Tatsuhiko begins imagining how pretty Nico would look in a Yukata when he hears that. As Tatsuhiko follows Nico around, he wonders why Nico invited him to come to the festival together since coming to a festival together alone kind of feels like they both are on a date together. Tatsuhiko comments on the crowd and tells Nico that he not from Tokyo originally.
Tatsuhiko lived three hours away from Tokyo since he would have to work everyday to afford living here. Nico asks Tatsuhiko why he was living in Tokyo and he tells her about the time he wanted to become a pro-musician.
Tatsuhiko says that he doesn’t need to live in Tokyo anymore to become a pro-animator but Tokyo provides a sense of comfort to him. Each time he goes out, he thinks about all the people in Tokyo who are spending their time alone because they are in a creative field and can’t meet people often. Knowing that makes Tatsuhiko feels less lonely.
Nico tells Tatsuhiko that she has decided the theme of her album which would be “big city” and that was why she wanted to visit a place with a lot of people. Tatsuhiko wonders if she invited him out for research purposes and Nico continues saying that even though she has lived in Tokyo for a long time, she still never had a favorite place in Tokyo.
As the time for firework approaches, Nico tells Tatsuhiko to follow her for a good viewing spot and Tatsuhiko can’t help but think about wanting to spend more time with Nico and that he wants to share more stories with her outside of work.
