After rescuing Xiao Li and taking care of Fan Lao, the two come back to meet up with the elders to discuss their next plan of action, which is to fight alongside Jia Nan Academy against the Black Alliance. Meanwhile, the leader of the Black Alliance, Han Feng, is discussing the matter of the supposedly dead Xiao Yan coming back. He is willing to go to any extent in order to obtain the Flame Mantra from Xiao Yan.
As the Academy sets out to take revenge, it is revealed that Xiao Yan intends to take of Han Feng and obtain the Sea Heart Flame. Being able to control two kinds of flames, the addition of a third flame will greatly enhance his powers, but the risk is extremely high, so much so that it is as if he is gambling on his life.
The gang reaches the site where the intense battle is about to start. Han Feng remarks that the aura which made the Sea Heart Flame afraid was coming from Xiao Yan, after a few exchanges of dialogue between them, along with a one-on-one between Xiao Yan and Han Feng. Angry with Han Feng for disregarding their teacher and backstabbing him even though he raised them since they are kids with nowhere else to go, Xiao Yan is dead set on teaching Han Feng a lesson and making him pay for all his wrongdoings.
