DC Comics and Webtoon? Yes! The first of DC Comics’ planned webcomic partnerships with Webtoon is Batman: Wayne Family Adventures. It is the second webcomic to focus on the Gotham Cast Herd.
It takes the Batman Family in a humorous direction. It is a slice-of-life comic that depicts interactions between the Batfamily in contrast to the way that they are typically portrayed in mainstream comics, which is mostly dysfunctional.
It centers on a vicious but devoted surrogate family of vigilantes who toil diligently to protect Gotham City under the guidance of their mentor, Batman.
The comic/webtoon begins with Duke Thomas, aka The Signal, a new vigilante in town, settling into Wayne Manor. He is greeted by Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, at his new residence. Duke Thomas is advised to take a tour of the area while Alfred Pennyworth, called the Butler, takes care of the movers.
Damian Wayne aka Robin takes him around the Manor helping him get familiar with the place where he will be living from now on. Duke finds the new place overwhelming but he is really excited at the same time.
The following day, all the vigilantes come over to greet the new vigilante in town and also tell him about things he should know and the traditions they follow. One such tradition is that if no one gets injured during patrols, Alfred makes pastries.
Batman surely needed a break but with the new vigilante Duke Thomas in the house, Bruce Wayne will have his hands full for a while again. Being a father is surely hard but is it harder than being Batman?
Previously on Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Season 2 Chapter 79: Recap
Let us have a quick recap of the previous chapter before moving on to the next one, shall we?
So, the previous chapter started off with Duke’s class party. Our Batman is off with some cookies to deliver at Duke’s school. He asks Alfred to be on standby as things have been too quiet lately.
Bruce then greets the teachers and hands them the snacks only to realize that he was in charge of dessert. With all teachers worried, Margie aka Bruce’s nemesis on the PTA enters with cupcakes and saves the show.
Margie leaves making fun of Bruce and teasing him for his mistake while he continues to argue that he was told to get snacks and not dessert.
While the teachers begin to gratefully thank Margie, there is an announcement made that the students are required to move to the car parking for ice cream which is a treat by Mr. Bruce. We know Batman can’t lose, right?
All satisfied, Bruce and Duke get back home after the class party laughing and talking about Margie’s dull face.
