Batman: Arkham Shadow, a collaborative project between Camouflaj and Oculus Studios, is set for a full reveal this coming June. Scheduled for a late 2024 release, the game will be exclusively available on Meta Quest 3.
“Evil prowls the streets. Gotham City teeters on the brink of peril. And you are its only hope,” states an official description.
The revealing of the game will take place during Summer Game Fest Live on June 7 at 2 pm PT/10 pm UK time. Details regarding whether the game will adhere to the established canon of the Batman: Arkham series developed by Rocksteady remain unclear.
This marks the second VR title bearing the Batman: Arkham moniker, following the release of Batman: Arkham VR, which debuted alongside the original PlayStation VR headset.
Meta recently announced its decision to open up Meta Horizon OS, the operating system powering its Quest headsets, to third-party hardware manufacturers. Xbox, Lenovo, and Asus are among the initial partners slated to create new mixed-reality devices for various applications.
“Xbox and Meta joined forces last year to introduce Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) to Meta Quest, enabling users to play Xbox games on a large 2D virtual screen within mixed reality. Now, we’re collaborating once more to develop a limited-edition Meta Quest, drawing inspiration from Xbox,” Meta revealed.
