HBO’s award-winning comedy, Barry, is all set to return for the fourth time on television. Revolving around Barry Berkman, the show takes us through his life as a skilled yet low-earning hitman that later finds out that he’s better off as an actor, but with a past as dark as his, he struggles to find a balance between the two lives.
Airing on television since March 25th, 2018, Barry is created by Alec Berg, known for his other great works like Silicon Valley and New Girl. The first season ended up becoming more popular than expected, and new seasons were released each year. Barry has received praise for its plot and humor, along with the character development throughout the years. The show has managed to get nominated for a total of 44 Primetime Emmys, showing just how successful the series was.
Bill Hader plays the main protagonist, Barry Block/ Berkman, a veteran that ends up finding solace in a group of aspiring actors. He also serves as one of the producers of the show that worked on making HBO’s pilot order in January 2016 a reality. An announcement of the black comedy series having a fourth season was made back on May 19th, 2022 and earlier this year, the streaming platform confirmed that this would be its last season.
Production of the final season of Barry began in June 2022 and took place in Los Angeles. With our antihero looking forward to changing himself this season, we might have an unexpected yet thrilling end to this macabre comedy that ended up becoming one of the best shows of its genre.
