Lead Vocalist and Lyricist of the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses Axl Rose is sued by a model who claims that she was sexually assaulted by the singer in 1989.
According to the court documents, the model accuses the singer for using his fame, status and power as a celebrity for controlling, manipulating and violently assaulting her.
Sheila Kennedy who is a former Penthouse model and actress filed the lawsuit in New York Court. The model claims that the musician has sexually assaulted her in a meeting at his hotel room in New York nightclub.
According to the lawsuit Kennedy claims that Rose treated her like a property and used her solely for his sexual pleasure. The lawsuit also claimed that Kennedy has suffered severe physical, emotional, financial and psychological pain as a result of the forced intercourse.
Kennedy has filed the case few days before the expiry of the New York Adult survivors Act. This legislation instituted a one-year period during which adults who claim to be survivors of sexual offenses could sue their alleged abusers in the state, even if the statute of limitations on their claims had lapsed.
The case has created some confusion in the minds of the fans on why the model has decided to come up with a case that has happened several decades ago.
