The Crow Flies, a Turkish Netflix series, returned for a second season, revealing more about what happened after Lale Kiran left her broadcasting position at MON5. The focus of Season 2 of As the Crow Flies is the ongoing rivalry between Asli and Lale Kiran, which negatively affects both their personal and professional lives.
However, Asli discovers after this unfair struggle that karma is a dreadful thing. Lale had left the network during the previous season of As the Crow Flies, and Asli had been hired by the network to be a new TV anchor for “The Other Side.”
But, the people didn’t love Asli as much as they did when Lale was the show’s presenter. Therefore, Asli changed the arrangement and reorganized the entire show to make it more engaging for the viewers. However, the issue still stands: will Asli be able to restore her reputation and that of her show? Or will Lale Kiran win the TRP race against her? Let’s explore that.
Season 2 Ending Explained
Asli Tuna took over “The Other Side” after Lale departed the network. However, her charisma and sense of flair fell short of Lale’s capacity to draw viewers. The network was worried about how boring and frequently criticized Asli’s show had become on social media.
The editor-in-chief, Muge, and manager, Gul, were not happy with the show’s viewership and intended to replace Asli Tuna with a new talent. But Asli sensed that Gul and Muge were plotting something against her, so she thought of altering the setup of the entire software in addition to its structure. After telling the set boys to take down the desk, Asli said that she would now be presenting the news upright.
Additionally, Asli broke with tradition by reading the most talked about and trending stories on social media, which, according to Lale, made journalism laugh. Season 2 saw the arrival of Yusuf, an informant for MON5 whom we had known from the previous season, into the main cast.
Guliz, the daughter of a well-known media figure, quickly grabbed control of MON5 by dismissing the manager, Gul, even though Asli also needed Guliz’s assistance to succeed in the network.
She continued to support Asli in all of her decisions after Guliz became command, but mainly to maintain Asli’s dominance. Because Asli had her doubts about Muge, she ultimately decided to fire Muge from the network as well. Contrarily, Lale Kiran struggled with unemployment and devoted much of her free time to preparing meals for her kids, but Selim could tell she was unhappy.
When Selim reached out to Kenan, he asked if he could help Lale join their network, and Kenan graciously obliged. Lale was hired by Kenan, who was employed by Gunce TV, a different network, to be the next TV host.
Although Lale took the job and managed to get her mental health back on track, she was unable to match the popularity of Asli Tuna’s show, which was shown on all of the news networks. However, Lale never gave up and was committed to taking her program to the next level.
What Was Nazli’s Plan?
Asli’s assistant was Nazli, a recently revealed figure who started working at MON5. Upon joining this network, Nazli was just like Asli Tuna. Nazli intended to discredit Asli Tuna to eventually replace her, just like Asli did. Nazli likewise desired to use shortcuts to get fame and fortune.
But Nazli was even more crafty than Asli, so she staged an attack by spilling hot tea on herself and then accusing Asli of it. Asli, however, was well-versed in this plot and easily caught Nazli. In a complaint that she submitted, Nazli even accused Asli of assault. But Asli was saved by Lale Kiran, who gave her access to a lawyer who eventually removed Asli’s name from the criminal records.
Lale’s choice to assist Asli was her method of killing her enemy with kindness, even if she had no desire to get revenge on her. But Asli wasn’t even really appreciative of Lale because Asli was just a person with no empathy, regrets, or other human feelings other than anger and jealousy.
Selim wanted to leave Lale, but why?
Although Selim and Lale appeared content on the outside, with their two children leading what they saw as the ideal family life, Lale was no longer in love with Selim. Her former friend and lover Kenan, who had always understood her, had always a place in her heart.
Selim, who had an unwavering affection for Lale and always wanted the best for her, decided to quit her marriage when he saw that Lale wasn’t happy, allowing Kenan to become a part of Lale’s life. Although Lale had no desire to part from Selim, her silence was also destroying her marriage to him.
Lale wanted Kenan back in her life, although they were just together for the sake of their marriage. After being divorced amicably, Selim continued to live at their home with his daughters, while Lale moved out to live in a different apartment.
On the other side, Lale consistently avoided Kenan, who wished to keep their friendship intact. At first, Lale avoided interacting with Kenan, which caused an extraordinary gulf to form between them. As a result, when Guliz contacted Kenan, he decided to quit Gunce TV and rejoin his former network, MON5. But Kenan wasn’t afraid to take a gamble after finding out that Lale and Selim had split up.
After all this time, Kenan asked Lale out on his last day of Gunce TV. Furthermore, Lale consented to give her and Kenan’s relationship another chance after realizing that she needed to move on in her life and pursue the things she truly enjoyed.
What Happened To Asli?
Asli’s show grew popular and became a regular conversation starter, but she was never a real journalist—her interests were primarily in gossip and social media fads. Even though Asli had made a lot of adjustments to the show that increased the channel’s ratings, she felt in her heart that she was a bad journalist.
Guliz continued to be in charge of the business, so Asli didn’t truly understand that she didn’t own the network until she fired Gul, Muge, and everyone else she didn’t like. Asli’s pride and ego were always her top priorities. She seemed indifferent to Yusuf, even though she fell in love with him.
Asli attempted to pursue a love relationship with Yusuf after learning of Lale’s activities after Yusuf was employed by Lale for their network, Gunce TV. Although Asli’s hunger for fame and power had turned her into a psychopath, Yusuf didn’t realize this because his affection for her was sincere.
When Asli eventually reached her lowest point, she progressively lost every loved one she had ever known. Guliz saw that MON5 needed Lale more than anyone when her show on Gunce TV garnered the highest ratings for Lale Kiran. Asli noticed that Guliz was acting suspiciously toward her and giving her vague indications that she would soon need to exit the channel.
By the time Asli realized what the suggestion meant, her career was about to end. In the shoot of “The Other Side,” Asli becomes intoxicated and shows up. During the filming, Asli started speaking wildly, sobbed uncontrollably, and attributed her failed career to the entire network.
When Asli realized how far she had fallen, she realized that it was karma. The people praised Lale for her decision to leave this network, seeing her as a hero after she was forced to resign from her position due to being deceitfully manipulated by Asli, Gul, and Muge.
However, Asli was unable to elicit a similar response from the general public or her coworkers; instead, they were pleased that they would no longer have to put up with her when she decided to leave the network. When Asli left the channel, nobody in the network intervened to keep her there, which severely damaged her mental health.
Lale refused to go back to the previous network, even though Kenan offered her the chance to resume her career on MON5. Yusuf remained a faithful friend in Lale’s life. Thus, Lale decided to offer him that chance. Yusuf was enthusiastic and laser-focused in his work, which is why Lale strongly encouraged him to be the news host.
Everyone began to appreciate Yusuf as soon as he took over “The Other Side.” To illustrate the fact that she had never truly loved Yusuf, Asli wasn’t even pleased with him. Asli humiliated Yusuf and threw him out of the house when he arrived at her house to celebrate his victory, which devastated Yusuf.
