On October 15, 2023, Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 concluded with the highly anticipated Episodes 11 and 12. Following a brutal four-year wait following a successful debut season on Netflix, Sword of Aramun offered fans of K-Drama a cause to renew their Disney+ subscriptions and tune in every week.
Currently, there is a lot of doubt about the potential release of Arthdal Chronicles Season 3, including where and when it might stream, as well as whether or not it will be commissioned. It tells the tale of what occurs in Arthur about ten years later.
Under Eun Seom’s leadership, the Agos eventually succeeded in reunifying 30 clans after 200 years, defeating the enormous revolt of the tribes massacred by Ta Gon in Season 1 over more than eight years. A major conflict between Ta Gon’s Kingdom of Arthdal and Eun Seom’s Ago Union is certain to break out in Season 2. The East is now ruled by Eun Seom.
Tan Ya is the Wahan clan’s heir apparent. Eight years after Ta Gon’s coronation, the narrative takes place. Though a little simplistic, it wouldn’t be incorrect to refer to the fantasy drama as Korea’s version of Game of Thrones.
Arthdal Chronicles Season 3: Renewal Status
As of this writing, a third-season renewal for Arthdal Chronicles has not yet been announced. Nobody would truly expect that the turnaround would be rapid, of course; the lag between the first and second seasons was long due to a variety of intricate concerns.
Nonetheless, one can assume that a lesson has been learned, considering the show’s success on TV in Korea and across the globe for Disney+. There’s a good chance that fans will continue to be satiated by the abundance of content in this realm.
I’d like to refer you to a Studio Dragon representative who, in February 2023, informed media outlets that they were “currently preparing to launch filming for a new season of Arthdal Chronicles” to substantiate this allegation. This has a pretty obvious inference, which makes sense considering the watching numbers and reviews.
It makes sense that Arthdal Chronicles Season 3 would stream on Disney+, given the show’s current success on the service. This is supported by the aforementioned quote. It would be quite unusual that the production crew was already working on the third season if there were going to be problems with the show’s platform after the second season.
Recap Of Arthdal Chronicles Season 2
In the first scene of Arthdal Chronicles season 2, the Queen meets Eunseom in the forest. She mocks him, saying that although he must be experiencing intense anguish, his suffering won’t go away quickly. She offers the soldiers two days to depart and return to the fortress. Winter is approaching, and Arthdal is more than willing to wait this out without siege weapons.
Whatever he throws at them, the Queen is sure they can handle it. Naturally, they are unable to reach a consensus and end up at a standstill. Eunseom returns to his chambers after the Queen has left, gritting his teeth and hating the name Inaishingi as he laments his efforts. Commander Yeonbal is given an order by the Queen to block the waterways in case Eunseom believes this is a method to get to him.
Naturally, the goal of this is to attempt to prevent Eunseom from entering the city in this manner. Her loose mouth, though, might have sold her out. Fortunately, Eunseom possesses Chaeeun as a secret weapon. Is she the one who can change this situation? Yeolsol approaches the castle walls in Arthdal and boldly begs to try and save Tanya.
He begs the Queen for forgiveness and promises to do everything in his power to keep her safe. It is at that moment that Tagon casually appears by his side. Yeolson lost everything he had, and now that the Wahans are in danger of going extinct, he has nothing left to contribute.
Yeolson can’t bear to watch Tanya like this, but he also can’t let go of her. Tagon extends his hand, promising to stay with his daughter and to be trusted. Sadly, he forces the man to fall off the edge and meet his demise. In the meantime, the Queen finds out that Tagon has requested five Bichwisan jars. Startled, she goes to visit Tagon, who is accompanied by Prince Arok.
The latter is rejected, and when Taealha is given a drink, she declines. Tagon, however, is facing an impending loss since the White Mountain Tribe isn’t showing up. Their supply routes have been severed, and everything will eventually come to an end.
