ARC Raiders players who want to experience the extraction shooter without worrying about other human Raiders may have reason to feel heard. Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal has acknowledged that there is significant demand for a dedicated PvE mode, revealing that many players would prefer to focus on the game’s dangerous ARC machines rather than PvP encounters.
The comments came during Grøndal’s interview with GamesBeat, where he discussed the game’s matchmaking system, player behavior and the challenges of keeping different types of Raiders satisfied. His comments do not confirm that a PvE-only mode is coming, but they show that the request has reached the development team.
ARC Raiders Developers Acknowledge PvE Mode Demand
The discussion came while GamesBeat examined ARC Raiders’ aggression-based matchmaking. The system attempts to separate players based partly on their behavior, creating different experiences for Raiders who prefer peaceful interactions and those who frequently engage in PvP.
Grøndal said the system has evolved considerably since launch, with the team experimenting with factors such as whether players are playing solo or in squads. He also noted that even players who enjoy PvP sometimes feel that there can be too much player-versus-player combat.
That led to a direct discussion about whether some players simply want to experience the game’s PvE side.
“There are so many people asking for a PvE mode. So many people asking for it,”
Grøndal told GamesBeat.

However, the developer did not announce a dedicated PvE mode. Instead, he described the request as an interesting challenge as the team looks for ways to keep different types of players engaged.
“Some people just don’t want to be bothered, and they’d still like to play ARC Raiders,”
Grøndal explained. He added that there could be a future where
“some people are mostly interested in the PvE.”
The demand is not new. Discussions about a PvE-only experience have appeared repeatedly within the ARC Raiders community, with some players arguing that it would bring back people who have stopped playing, while others believe removing the threat of human Raiders would undermine the game’s core tension.
For now, ARC Raiders remains built around the combination of hostile machines and unpredictable encounters with fellow Raiders. The official game description similarly emphasizes both threats as central parts of the extraction experience.
The comments therefore should not be treated as confirmation that PvE mode is coming. Instead, they indicate that the developers are aware of the demand and are considering how different playstyles could coexist as ARC Raiders continues to evolve.
