After years of waiting, fans of Aoashi are finally getting new details about the highly anticipated Season 2. Ahead of its October 2026 premiere, the Aoashi production team has unveiled Cour 1’s main visual and confirmed the theme song artists. The newly released Cour 1 main visual offers fans a first look at Aoashi Season 2’s opening story arc.

The anime has also confirmed that rock band 10-FEET will perform the opening theme, while singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi will perform the ending theme. Both artists are well known for their work in anime, and their music is expected to match the excitement and emotion of the series.
Why Fans Were Waiting for Aoashi Season 2
Aoash is based on Yugo Kobayashi’s popular manga, which began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits in January 2015. The manga has surpassed 20 million copies in circulation and concluded with its 40th and final volume in 2025.
The story follows Ashito Aoi, a talented but inexperienced striker from Ehime Prefecture who gets noticed by veteran coach Tatsuya Fukuda. His opportunity to join Tokyo City Esperion’s elite youth program changes his life and begins his journey toward becoming a better player.
Unlike many sports anime, Aoashi focuses on realistic football tactics, personal growth, and the challenges players face both on and off the field. Season 2 will continue Ashito’s journey as he competes for Tokyo City Esperion’s A-team in the youth Premier League, where he will face tougher challenges that test his skills, teamwork, and determination.
A New Studio With Familiar Creative Talent
One of the biggest changes in Aoashi Season 2 is the change in its animation studio. While the first season was produced by Production I.G, the second season will be handled by TMS Entertainment, the studio known for popular anime such as Sakamoto Days and Dr. Stone.
Kazuki Yokoyama will take over as director, while series composer Masahiro Yokotani and character designer Manabu Nakatake will return from the first season to maintain the series’s creative identity. New character designers Asami Taguchi and Junko Yamanaka have also joined the team.
Aoashi Season 2 will feature 24 episodes divided into two cours, with the first cour set to premiere in October. The main voice cast will also return, including Koki Osuzu as Ashito Aoi, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Eisaku Ohtomo, and Seiichiro Yamashita as Soichirou Tachibana.
10-FEET: The Rock Band Behind Aoashi Season 2’s Opening Theme
Choosing 10-FEET for Aoashi Season 2’s opening theme is a fitting decision. The Kyoto-based rock trio, formed in 1997, is known for its energetic sound that mixes punk rock, melodic hardcore, reggae, and hip-hop influences. Over the years, the band has become a major name in the Japanese music scene, especially among anime fans.
10-FEET gained even more attention with their ending theme for The First Slam Dunk movie, which became a huge success and reached audiences beyond the anime community. The band features Takuma Mitamura on vocals and guitar, Naoki Inoue on bass, and Kouichi Nakaoka on drums.
With decades of experience and a history of creating emotional, high-energy songs, 10-FEET is a perfect match for Aoashi’s competitive spirit and passionate storytelling.
Ai Higuchi: The Singer Behind Some of Anime’s Most Emotional Ending Songs
On the emotional side of Aoashi Season 2’s music lineup is Ai Higuchi, one of Japan’s most respected singer-songwriters. Higuchi started learning classical piano at a young age and later explored instruments such as violin, drums, and guitar, before focusing on songwriting.
She is best known worldwide for her song “Akuma no Ko,” the ending theme for Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2, which became a major hit after its release in 2022. Higuchi has also written songs for other artists and contributed music to anime projects.
With her emotional vocals and thoughtful songwriting style, Ai Higuchi is expected to bring a more reflective and heartfelt touch to Aoashi Season 2, balancing the series’ intense football action with deeper emotions.
Aoashi Season 2 Anime Expo Panel to Feature a Special Announcement
Along with the new visuals and theme song announcements, the production team behind Aoashi Season 2 has also announced a special promotional event at Anime Expo. The latest footage from the season will be shown for the first time during the “AOASHI Panel: Changing the Game of Sports Anime!” event at the Los Angeles Convention Center on July 3.
Producer Junichi Katsutani will attend the panel, where fans can also expect a “special announcement” for Aoashi supporters. For international fans unable to attend Anime Expo, Crunchyroll is expected to continue streaming Aoashi Season 2 worldwide.
