Premise Of Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania
Janet was entrapped in the Quantum Realm in their days and met Kang, an exiled traveler. After the previous events of the film, including the battle against Thanos in Avengers Endgame, Ant-Man has moved on in his life and became a memoirist. Scott is living happily with Hope, his girlfriend. Cassie has turned out to be a beautiful teenager and a political activist.
Scott and Cassie have a strained relationship due to their different political views. Cassie reveals her work on a device that establishes contact with Quantum Realm on her visit to her grandparents. Janet panics and forcefully shuts down the appliance after Cassie’s revelation.
The device’s message is received before Janet closes the device resulting in the portal opening and the five of them getting sucked into the Realm. Cassie and Scott are found by natives rebelling against their ruler while the other members of the family explore the city. Hope, Janet, and Pym meet with Lord Kylar, a former acquaintance of Janet from the day of her entrapments.
Kylar reveals to the group the times have changed since Janet left, and he now works for Kang, the new ruler of the Quantum Realm. Having no other choice, Hope, Janet, and Pym flee, and they do so by stealing Kylar’s ship. Jentorra, the rebel leader, informs the Langs about Janet’s involvement with Kang.
He also tells them that Janet is responsible for Kang rising to power. M.O.D.O.K. got revealed to be Darren Cross, who had survived his apparent death at the hands of Ant-Man, now the leader of Kang’s forces attacking the rebel group. Janet confesses to her family her reason for wanting nothing to do with Quantum Realm again. Kang claimed to Janet that they could escape the Realm together if she helped him by rebuilding his multiversal power core.
Janet turns against Kang after she sees a vision of Kang destroying several timelines. It gets revealed Kang got exiled by his variants out of fear, and in the meantime, he regains his power and conquers Quantum Realm.
The Langs are taken captive by Kang, who demands Scott repair his power core back, or he kills Cassie. Scott helps Kang by shrinking his size but almost drowns in a pool of his variants till Hope arrives and helps him. Kang attacks Janet and destroys her ship with Hank on it.
Janet fixes the power core, and everyone except Scott jumps through the portal as he is attacked by Kang. Hope returns, and with Scott, they destroy the power core with a combination of Pym particles. Scott and Hope return to their home as Cassie opens the portal on her end.
The film ends on a cliffhanger as numerous variants of Kang led by Immortus plan their death of their own as they plan for their Multiversal uprising.
