The penultimate episode of The CW’s All American was fast-paced and fun to watch because it touched a lot of sensitive issues that bulked up along the way to season five. We saw how J.J. got lumped and acted like a character instead of being himself, and that could resonate with the audience. Then, we see the Patience-Miko arc, which drops a massive bomb that could mean trouble ahead of the season finale.
And if the drama-packed episode from last week didn’t give us enough ammo to talk about, the Laura-Coop arc will explode in Season 5’s finale, giving way for cliffhangers for All American Season 6, which is announced, green-lit, and we’ll see it making its way to our TV screens at a later date. What’s sure is that the upcoming and exciting season finale will bring us lots of stuff to talk about. So, let’s try to unpack the latest episode ahead of the finale.
All American Season 5 Episode 19 Recap
The next to last episode of this series, aptly titled “Sabotage,” gave us an idea of what’s coming ahead. First, we see Olivia all happy and peppy because she got accepted into the Culture Exchange Program, which means a trip to England in the summer. Then, we briefly move to our boy Asher, who has a lot of concerns about J.J. After that, it’s Dillon and his girlfriend, a fact that shocked Gracie and Spence. Late on, we see how Laura abruptly interrupts Coop’s class; that poor professor didn’t know what was coming.
The episode has a fast tempo with quick scenes, so we see how Laura is going back to Coastal Cali because her practice is relocating. Moving on, we go back to Asher, he’s with Jordan and Spence, and they’re checking up on J.J. as Ashe thinks the dude might’ve fallen off the wagon; no one knows about him after Keith OD’ed.
Then, as if this teen drama doesn’t get any more dramatic, we see how Layla slaps Miko with a court order that prevents Miko from coming about 100 feet close to Layla; yikes! Miko is really unwell from that, Layla could tell, and she voiced her concerns to Miko. The restraining order won’t be enough.

All American Season 5 Episode 20 Spoilers
The season finale, titled “Now That We’ve Found Love,” will pick up on several things, unless it’s a multiple cliffhangers ahead of the already confirmed season 6. Firstly, the show needs to address how J.J. is going to end up. Does he find redemption, or is he a basket case?
Secondly, the season finale must pick up on Liv’s decision, as well as how Grace will finally embrace the changing environment around her. And the real possible cliffhanger is how Miko’s restraining order to Patience. The season had us lose Billy Baker, but we don’t know if those kinds of events are going to be recurring in this show.
