Alchemy of Souls’ Ending needs an obvious explanation, and we are here for the same. This Korean drama series focused on a powerful sorceress who has now taken over the body of a blind woman. Soon, the plot evolves in such a way that she comes across a man who is in dire need of her help so that he is able to change his fixed destiny.
The entire story is set in Daeho, which is a fictional place. The duo explores the forbidden magic spell called the alchemy of souls, which allows the two souls to switch their bodies. Now, it’s ending as not exactly sweet as we planned it would be. Thus, let us explore everything that we saw in the concluding moments of the last episodes.
By the climax of the show, we see that Mu Deok is going inside the woods, and all the guards are at his tail, trying to catch everything. Even Park Jin follows in the hopes of getting to know the truth. People at Songrim now know that Naksu has come back. Uk and Yul are also aware of this information, and thus, it is just creating a tougher situation for the characters. In an attempt to kill, Park Jim shoots an arrow straight at Mu Deok.
Although, she is saved by Uk who comes in between to cover her. This is why Jin had to take his attack back and failed at this attempt. Now, the ultimate tragedy happens when Mu Deok takes her sword and puts the blade in Jang Uk despite the fact that he was the one who saved her from Park Jin. Uk is seen struggling with the pain but keeps on chanting her name till the very last breath.
Alchemy of Souls Ending Explained – The Lovers Are Parted
Now, Mu Deaok is back to normal, and seeing the horror site right in front of her, which is actually caused by her, is something she did not imagine doing at all. She screams, but Uk is gone by that time, and he even kept the promise he made her. The first one was that if she ever had to use a sword in order to kill people, then Jang Uk promised that he would be the one who would set the assassin free.
Also, when the two thought of getting married in the past, it was Jang Uk who told her that he would hold her hand tight like a wedding ring. This promise was made until the day he would die, and unfortunately, that hour is here, and while he was on his deathbed, the man did not break the commitment he made to his lover.
Obviously, this was one of the worst parts of the series and felt like an ultimate bad breakup. Everyone was crying, and I could hear many of my friends wailing over the loss because it was so sudden, like a plot twist, but permanent, like the writers meant to do this. As for the rest of the people, they are blaming him for protecting Naksu all this time, but we know the whole truth and story behind it.
On the other hand, Yul is not allowed to even take one step out of the fortress. He is too ashamed and embarrassed to witness that the eldest son of his family was also involved in saving Naksu, and that would bring shame upon them. Now, Cho Yeon is very angry and when wants to take revenge on Mu Deok for the death of her father.
Although, her mother thinks that the woman should be left alone because she thinks Mu Deok is Bu Yeon. In the end, we see that Mu Deok, who is very hurt, escapes the guards and jumps into the lake. Turns out that she is still under the control of another soul, but at this moment, she feels it all, every last hit of her own emotion. Turns out that she is getting petrified.
Another plot twist is in-store when Mu Deok is rescued from the lake, and there are two mysterious men who do this. One is Uk who is alive with the help of Master Lee, who was able to reincarnate him. In this way, he will be able to avenge the people who have wronged him all this time, as well as save the girl he loves so dearly.
