Akiba Maid Sensou Episode 11 is set to release upcoming week. Cygames and P.A.Works produce the anime television series Akiba Maid War. Sichi Masui directed it, Yoshihiro Hiki wrote it, Manabu Nii designed the characters, and Yoshihiro Ike composed the music.
We see in episode 10 that Mr. Suehiro strangles a maid to death during a visit to the Oinky Doink Cafe, where business is thriving after winning the Lady Omoe Festival. Although Nagomi is opposed to Ranko falling in love, the Manager accepts on his behalf because Suehiro is a wealthy banker.
Suehiro, a frequent visitor to the maid cafe, invites Ranko out on a date. Despite Okachimachi’s attempts to block Ranko from leaving the cafe, the rest of the cafe crew assists her with makeup and clothing. Suehiro offers to accompany her to Sapporo at night after spending the day with her.
Okachimachi reappears after he departs, informing her that Suehiro would murder her. Suehiro, on the other hand, was about to murder her when he was halted by a passing cop and a speeding automobile hit the maid as she fled. She then admits that she is the maid who assassinated Ranko’s old boss, Michiyo, in the hope of being promoted.
Akiba Maid Sensou Episode 10 Review
The frame gag is undeniably ridiculous, yet it fits all of these genre characteristics admirably. This occurrence can also be considered serious. Our sympathy for Ranko and our involvement in her story, which keeps us interested despite its inherent foolishness, often temper the joys of Maid War. We’ve known what the Oink-Doink sisters are thinking since the birthday episode, so it’s nice to see them all pitch in to help her prepare.
We have some doubts about the plot’s direction because Suehiro is essentially a Maid Hitman. Curiously, Ranko feels most comfortable around a cold-blooded contract killer. The underlying question is whether or not Ranko can genuinely experience this kind of happiness in the mythologized maid industry, notwithstanding Nagomi’s reservations about the constraints of love in the profession.
All of this makes for a charming build-up that had me laughing aloud when Suehiro pulled out his “Let’s Escape Together” train tickets because, of course, it led to an unexpected “holy shit” moment when the friggin’ panda appeared from the shadows to reveal the truth! She turns out to be much more closely integrated with Ranko and the overall story than we might have anticipated, as she has always been somewhere between an oblique running gag and a plot twist in the making.
This is in addition to the immensely amusing revelation that Aya Hirano is Okachimachi’s voice actor. Although I only labeled it a holy shit moment, I believe it was a series of “what what” and “oh my god” moments leading up to finding that Okachimachi murdered Ranko’s mentor Michiyo. She’s been here since the beginning. Although it could have been a bit of a stretch, it all fits in beautifully with the show’s concept and overall plot.
Despite having the same dreams as Nagomi, Okachimachi became so depressed and disillusioned that she reverted to being a panda. Even though we chuckle when we see Okachimachi sweating through her panda suit when Ranko initially walks into the doors of Oinky-Doink to work for Oinky-Doink, her attempts to make apologies with both herself and Ranko by shielding him from her new hitman suitor ring are thematically sincere.
For a split second, I feared Ranko had murdered this endangered species, and it wasn’t even the start of uncovering Suehiro’s true motives. In contrast to some of Maid War’s previous dramatic attempts, which can be perceived as basic emotional manipulation, the swerves in this one were fascinating to see. The strange nature of the Akiba Maid War prevents maids from actually experiencing traditional joy, even though they may be able to imagine it.
It is consequently unpleasant for the maids but wonderful for everyone at home. We learn the tone of the show as we see a hopeless hitman smoke one final cigarette and have a revelatory conversation with his panda-suited killer as she waits for her date fate never shows up in the pouring rain with a café maid. It’s bitter coffee with cutesy café latte art, tragically absurd and absurdly tragic like nothing else. It’s cartoonish, absurdly tragic, and outrageously absurd.
