About the series
The series starts with a boy named Raidou in a new high school. He has an unfriendly face so he struggles to make friends. Although there is a girl named Reina Aharen who sits beside him. Desperate to find new friends Raidou tries to make friends with Reina. But she ignores him or speaks very softly that he cannot hear her. One day when Raidou picks up an eraser for Aharen, she becomes really close to him. It turns out that Aharen does not know how to keep their distance from people. If she is close to someone, then she would be up at their face otherwise she would be miles away.
And after a few practices, Raidou eventually understands what she is trying to speak and her weird antics. A relationship that began out of nowhere is now turned into something weird. At times Aharen would be so close to Raidou that she would sit on her lap and take a nap. As the story progresses the weird relationship gets weirder.
The Japanese comedy series Aharen San Wa Hakarenai is written and illustrated by Asato Mizu. There is a total of 13 volumes of the manga series with more than 130 chapters. Since Aharen is an Introvert, it is not a surprise that she is obsessed with a game called HokeKo. Raido and Aharen play the game together but despite having a superior character in the game, Raido still losses to Aharen. Later, at the arcade, Aharen sees Futuba trying to get Raido’s creature a stuffed toy. Futuba intends to gift the stuff the toy Akkun. Aharen tries to help Futuba but she insists that she will get the toy herself.
After many attempts, Futuba finally gets a stuffed toy but turns it turns out that Aharen was helping Futuba all the time by moving her toy after winning lots of stuffed toys herself. In the end, as Aharen always does, She goes the toys to Raido and he adds the toy to his collection.
The second part of the episode is about a misunderstanding between Aharen and Raido. Aharen is worried that Raido has gained weight due to her giving him all her lunch. On the other hand, Raido believes that Aharen is worried about her own weight. Both end up spending a lot of time finding a proper diet and exercise to lose weight. Eventually, Raido loses overnight with all the research activity. Raido is worried about the exams that are coming and asks for Aharen’s help. However, it turns out that Aharen herself hasn’t been studying. They study together, and Aharen hugs Raido and she is glad she is finally helping Raido.
