In the previous chapter of After Ten Years of Chopping Wood, Immortals Begged To Become My Disciples, Bai Luochen ventures inside the Abyssal Mines, where there is a rebellion going on, and gets attacked by a bunch of giant worms. Bai Luochen sees that David fights off the worms using some kind of Earth Magic.
He asks David about it, and apparently, David has been learning low-level Earth Magic, but he is not competent enough for high-level spells. That is when another giant worm demon comes up behind Bai Luochen, and David gets very nervous since Bai Luochen gets attacked by it.
Meanwhile, Lord Mapochiro’s subordinate sees that Bai is killing off the demons and tells him that their plans are being ruined. Mapochiro was not too worried because, according to him, he could just cut off Bai’s head and give it to the worm, which would meet their agreement terms.
Mapochiro personally goes to fight Bai and David and asks his subordinates to have five female demons ready as a sacrifice before he comes back. He goes and attacks Bai, but he just tells Mapochiro that he is not one of the rebel forces. He explains that he is just someone who works under the Head Maid.
However, Mapochiro, who is already arrogant, does not care for it and just continues to attack. He thought that the Head Maid couldn’t really do anything anyway. Meanwhile, the Rebel Forces and their leaders continued to watch over the ongoing battle between Mapochiro and Bai Luochen from a distance.
