On Instagram, ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin addressed the controversy surrounding her recent Instagram activity. On May 25, Min Hee Jin liked a video snippet from a YouTube web show by Belift Lab, featuring ILLIT members choosing between “Kalguksu” and “Galbijjim” during a food “ideal type” World Cup.
The video, which initially seemed harmless, sparked debate when fans noticed the caption describing “Kalguksu” as a “trend.” Some interpreted this as a subtle jab at NewJeans member Minji, who was previously criticized for not recognizing “Kalguksu,” leading to accusations of her faking a “classy” image.
NewJeans’ parents even contacted HYBE, condemning the mention of their daughter in such a context and blaming the internal production team for not filtering the content.
Min Hee Jin’s like in this controversial clip intensified the situation, prompting her to explain. On May 26, she clarified in an Instagram comment: “Some Bunnies earlier told me that I had clicked on ‘like’ by mistake. Some fan sent me that link via DM and asked me to verify it so I entered the link.”
She insisted that the like was accidental, adding, “I didn’t click the like button, I guess I might have double-tapped it by mistake. Thank you for letting me know.”
The controversy further escalated when Min Hee Jin accused ILLIT of copying NewJeans, leading Belift Lab to file a complaint against her for obstruction of business and defamation. In a statement on May 22, Belift Lab denied the plagiarism allegations and provided evidence to the authorities to refute the claims.
As a result, a general shareholders’ meeting is scheduled for May 31 to discuss the potential dismissal of Min Hee Jin from her position as CEO of ADOR.
