Bounce TV’s latest series, Act Your Age, will soon release a new episode this week. Gathering more than 2 million views, the Alyson Fouse show has managed to become one of the biggest opening shows on the platform.
First aired on March 4th, 2023, Act Your Age is a comedy multi-camera series that revolves around three women all in their 50s yet still young at heart. All three main characters are played by inspiring women who have proved that age is no limitation by their work. Both the actors, as well as the directors, have together created a show that is unusually relatable and entertaining.
Despite being older and having children well in their 20s, the main characters Bernadette, Keisha, and Angela don’t shy away from having fun in their lives with their friends on their side. Alyson Fouse claims she choose the actors personally by looking at their careers and knowing that they would be able to bring her vision to life. She was right as Act Your Age has become Bounce TV’s most popular show even though it has only aired a few episodes.
What makes this series more unique is its multi-camera filming, a dying style of series which this show tries to revive through each of its comedic scenes. Filming for the show took place in Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia, with Barry Poznick, Bradley Gardner, and Ranada Shepard serving as producers of the series.
Although much of the plot is not known, the show overall focuses on these three women who each have their own busy lives and dreams to accomplish. They find each other at the right times of their lives and realize that even if all three of them have completely different personalities, they can still support each other wholeheartedly.
Act Your Age also explores the kind of relationships parents have with adult children, stereotypes that society has on people, especially women, to act a certain way at an older age, and many other lesser talked about topics. With 16 episodes ordered for its first season, there’s much to explore in the lives of the women.
