He drowned his sorrows in alcohol and became a playboy. Someone who’s not even worth getting to know. That was when he came across the Blood Cult.
Well, it was more like the Blood Cult came across him. The Blood Cult attacked the Yulang Prefecture to kidnap recruits for their ranks. Woon-Hwi was picked up along with several others like him. However, due to his broken spirit core, he was unable to advance in the cult and remained a low-level spy for over ten years. However, then his luck turned when he died.
He was hired to steal the “Records Of The Sword Sage,” but after successful completion, he was betrayed by his contractors. They tried to kill him, but in doing so, they broke the container in the “Records Of The Sword Sage” was kept. The next thing he knows, he woke up ten years in the past with the ability to talk to weapons. Even after all that, he ended up back at the Blood Cult.
Woon-Hwi was able to turn the tides in his favor this time around as he was knowledgeable of the future. The Spirit of his mother’s Dagger, Sodam, also helped him in his journey. Before long, he realized something. The more he came across life-and-death situations, the stronger he grew. But without a spirit core, there wasn’t much he could do.
Courtesy of Hae Ak-Cheon of the Fourth Supreme of the Blood Cult, he was introduced to inherent energy. Woon-Hwi caught a lucky break yet again when he met Nam-Cheon, the Sword of the Ho Jong-Dae, the sword master of the Southern Skies. Nam-Cheon taught him how to use his inherent energy sustainably without burning through his life force.
Absolute Sword Sense Manhwa Recap
Woon-Hwi, along with Jwa-Beak, Woo-Hyeon, and Dam Yeh-Wa, attempted the Captain’s exam, While Woon-Hwi, Jwa-Beak, and Woo-Hyeon passed Yeh-Wa was unable to. To grow his forces, Ak-Cheon wanted to recruit as many trainees as possible. As such, he took over a majority of those who passed the promotion tests leaving only 10 for the other leaders.
In addition to that, he had Woon-Hwi poach a majority of the advanced candidates also. And among them was Jo Sung-Won. He was the most skilled out of all of them. Woon-Hwi recognized him as a spy from the Beggar Sect and hence wanted to avoid recruiting him. However, Ak-Cheon forced him to recruit him as, in his eyes, he was the best candidate out of them all.
Since their numbers suddenly increased Ak-Cheon realized their cave wouldn’t be adequate anymore. He asks the twins to go bring all his things from the cave. With the twins and the other trainees going up the hill, Woon-Hwi stayed back to talk to Sung-Won. Out of the blue Sung-Won starts attacking Woon-Hwi. He recognized the technique as the 18 Descending Dragon.
A Technique that’s only given to the leader of the Beggar’s Sect. Sung-Won assumed he defeated Woon-Hwi, but that was furthest from the case. He was able to overwhelm him using his inherent energy. Sung-Won admitted defeated and confessed that he only wanted to talk. However, Woon-Hwi wanted to continue as he had a lot of pent-up anger to release.
Absolute Sword Sense Chapter 35 Spoilers & Predictions
In Absolute Sword Sense Chapter 35, we will get to know why a leader of the Beggars’ Sect infiltrated the Blood Cult. If we were to speculate Sung-Won might be an heir to the Clan Leader’s title. He must have infiltrated the Blood Cult to learn their techniques and possibly squash his opposition. Woon-Hwi might see this as an opportunity and use him.
Having the future leader of the Beggar’s Sect owe you a favor is a reward in it itself. Or Woon-Hwi might ask him to teach him the 18 Techniques of the Descending Dragon in exchange for keeping his secret. Whatever the case, maybe the situation is very advantageous for Woon-Hwi. There is also the bet he made with the 6th Blood Star, Blood Witch. He might cash that in, also.
