The show was created by Chuck MacLean around 2019. Until now, the show has completed two seasons with 18 episodes. The show’s first season was aired online in June 2019 & later, season two aired in March 2021. Currently, everyone is eagerly waiting for City on a Hill Season 3 after its Teaser Trailer release.
City on a Hill revolves around a Corrupt FBI agent, Jackie Rohr, and an Attorney, Decourcy Ward, who team together to defeat the criminal Family from Charlestown. The series stars fine actors who have once again proved themselves worthy. The cast consists of Kevin Bacon, who plays FBI Agent Jackie Rohr. He is a fine American Actor famous for his roles in movies like Footloose(1984), Apollo 13(1995), A Few Good Men(1992), JFK(1991), etc.
Jonathan Tucker played the role of Frankie Ryan. He is a famous star in America who is popular for his roles in certain movies. Jill Hennessy played the role of Jennifer Rohr. She is a Canadian Actress and Singer. She is famous for her roles in a few series. These might be Law and Order, Crossing Jordan, etc. Mark O’Brien played Jimmy Ryan’s character, and Lauren E. Banks as Siobhan Quay. These were some of the main characters of City on a Hill.

City on a Hill Season 1 recap:
Season one of the City on a Hill location is in Boston around the early 90s. We saw in episode one how the pair Jackie and Decourcy Ward allied an Armored Card Robbery. Their wish is to clear Corruption in which they work. In episode two, we see Rosa, Jackie’s mother-in-law, plotting something on his behind, whereas Decourcy discovers he has a powerful enemy within the town.
In episode three, Jimmy visits his kids far away from the town, discovering he’s not safe. Inside the city, Decourcy is trying to break the ‘Code of Silence’ to get people talking Whereas, Jenny is searching to become a teacher again. In episode four, Jimmy is trying to find Armored Truck guards with the help of Jackie. On the other hand, Decourcy confuses the suspect to be presented before the Grand Jury.
In episode five, we saw a local Reporter, Michaela Freda, walking down a dangerous path after getting a tip. At the same time, Frankie is trying to provide for his family after the Grand Jury’s warning. Between this, Jackie and Decourcy are finding new aspects in the Armored truck robbery in Revere. In episode Six, Ryan’s Family starts having money problems while Reverend Fields discovers his vulnerability even after his influence. For a While, Decourcy makes an insider talk about the connection between stolen guns and the Revere Robbery.
In Episode Seven, Decourcy considers cutting off the gun supply after Jackie brought Gang’s Arms dealer into custody. At the same time, Jimmy and Frankie are busy finding a new dealer for their next job. In Episode Eight, The Grand Jury reassembles while Jackie celebrates his win in front of the media. Decourcy is promising a potential Future in Politics, though Siobhan is fearful.
In episode nine, Genesis Coalition pitches a new way to curb Boston’s crime rate, Though Massachusetts State Police plans promise to keep the FBI out. However, Jackie is determined to get involved. In the last episode of the season, Jenny faces her fears while Jimmy tries to find a way out of his mess. Jackie is celebrating another victory only for cameras while feeling guilty for his legacy. Decourcy is determined to provide justice for the murdered Guards.
City on a Hill Season 2 Recap:
In season two, City on a Hill focuses on a federal Housing project. In episode one, we see Jackie being held accountable by Decourcy Ward after a U.S. assistant attorney dies from an overdose. He’s being questioned for his drug arrest at Braxton Summit. In Episode Two, we saw Cathy Ryan making an unauthentic income for survival. After, her salon isn’t working. Meanwhile, Siobhan plans to start a family while Jackie tries to find dirt on Decourcy.
In episode three, Siobhan receives some welcoming news while running for city council. Decourcy visits Rohr House to question Jenny so that he can find out something about her husband. Later, Jackie finds out about one of the Decourcy informants. In episode four, Decourcy, Anton, and Siobhan are called for the Interrogation of one of the stressful consequences of Jackie’s actions. Meanwhile, Jenny develops a friendship with an unexpected woman.
In episode five, Cathy restocks herself by going straight to the source while Grace desperately tries to help her son. Karen Shimizu, the U.S. Attorney, plans to eliminate all the distrustful agents while Jackie tries to make her way into the new missions. In episode six, Jenny is stunned after learning about her new friend. At the same time, Cathy is visiting an old friend after she arranged Isaac’s fall. Kelvin struggles to control the Baxton Boys, as Jackie knows she’s hiding something.
Decourcy and Siobhan find it challenging to survive each other company after fighting on opposing sides in a legal matter. In Episode Seven, Jenny is disobeying Jacking by helping Maeve. Decourcy is happy to see Siobhan’s strength after the tragedy strikes. Conversely, Jackie confronts Grace about the Campbell Brothers’ involvement in the Copeland Territory Shootout.
In the last episode, Siobhan has set new dreams she wishes to achieve while Jenny decides to confront her past. Jackie gets convinced that he can’t escape his past. Justice gets served inside & outside the courtroom, which makes Decourcy happy.
City on a Hill Season 3 Release Date
After the memorable Season two finale, we can expect many things from Season three. We know most of the cast of Season two will be returning in season three, Though we can expect to see Jackie without an FBI badge as he threw it in the river. Siobhan will be working for the American Civil Liberties Union. Other characters might be shown moving on from their past. Those are the few things we can expect in Season three. However, the writers have given so many surprises in the past that it’s hard to have certain expectations for season three.
Two weeks ago, the Season three official teaser trailer was aired. City on a Hill Season 3 episode one is expected to be aired on July 10th, 2022. As the show is supposed to be aired episode-wise, we can expect the second episode to be released on July 17, 2022. The series gets renewed for a third season on June 2, 2021. The series will be released on the Showtime Network, although you can also watch the series on Disney+ Hotstar.
