They badmouth the Empress for being just a city wench, and she should not have become the Empress; they feel it has been a hasty choice on the emperor’s part.

According to them, Elliere is an arrogant woman who does not know her place, and after getting defeated by her, Madam Jophan now seeks revenge against her and plots her demise.
