Trafalgar Law is one of the characters central to the development of One Piece into what it is for now. Also, there seems to be one Big secret about Wano that Kaidou once made reference to when he was fighting with Yamato on the rooftop. He had revealed that he was in Wano because of some reasons that he did not point to at the time.
And then we have Law’s story that dates back to Punk Hazard when he revealed that he was after Kaidou. It still remains a mystery what Law meant and why he was targeting Kaidou. Back then, we thought it was just personal vendetta. Also, we still don’t know why the land of wano strictly follows a closed nation policy.
Looking at the latest updates from the manga and the spoilers. We also know that the Gorosei are aware of the situation in Wano as they have had the CP0 monitoring everything from the beginning. But from what they have commented, it looks like there is more to this that adds more to the mysteries surrounding the land of wano.
When Kaidou and Big Mom were defeated while Zunesha was nearby, Wano, Momonosuke told Zunesha that Wano’s borders were not opened yet. Even the Gorosei seemed to understand this because, from Zunesha’s disappearance, they managed to conclude that the borders of Wano were still closed to the outside world.
So this is another clue that connects to the events that have been happening. So there is more to Wano than there being just closed borders. We would understand that maybe there is a connection between Wano and Zunesha. Also, the Gorosei have noted that the country of Wano is still an iron-tight fortress, and even if Kaido is defeated, it will be almost impossible to take over the country.
The Mysteries Behind Land of Wano
So this brings up more questions. Why is this all happening, and what could it mean. What did the Gorosei mean when they say that the land of Wano still has iron-clad defenses and what keeps them from attacking it. Before, we would think that it was because of Kaidou’s presence. So they would not want to go to war with a Yonko head-on within his territory.
But even when Kaidou is defeated and all of his commanders as well. The Gorosei still don’t see this as an opportunity to take over a defenseless Wano. Luffy and his team fought to near-death experiences, with some of their comrades deceased in the process. So the state that they are in, they are just like sitting ducks and are exhausted from their fights.
So if there is an opportunity to take over Wano, then it would seem like now is the perfect time to do so. But it is not happening, and all this seems to be because of something strange that is protecting Wano. For now, it seems like it is related to the borders of Wano being closed. And if opened, this means that it will leave Wano vulnerable.
So this is something that should be done once there is someone strong enough to protect Wano as their territory. Before this, we used to think that it was because Kaidou would protect it, but it seems like there was something more to that. And that is what is protecting the land of Wano or preventing the Gorosei and the Marines from taking any action at the moment. It is like they are afraid of awakening a frightening power should they attack now.
The Aftermath of The Onigashima Raid
But now, with the new bounties likely to be revealed soon and having the two of the Yonkou falling in the same place. Then it is obvious that the new emperors will be coming from the winning side. Out of the four original Yonkous, only Shanks remains, with White Beard being replaced by Black Beard. Now Big Mom and Kaidou have been defeated, and they will probably no longer be recognized as the Yonkou anymore.
So this means that two more people will now be recognized as the Yonkou’s from the Samurai and the Pirates alliance that has managed to defeat two Yonkou’s in just one night. So the world of One Piece is going to change as we know it. Since Wano is a closed nation, then the news is going to spread all over the outside world as things happen.
And it is now becoming clearer that the old generation is being replaced bit by bit with the new ones starting from the Yonkous going all the way down as the great Pirate Era continues. The remnants of the White Beard Pirates have scattered all over, and now we see some of them appeared as casualties in the Wano raid. To date, we haven’t really seen Marco fighting all out, so the full extent of his Phoenix powers is yet to be seen.
But judging from his words after the raid as he was surprised that he managed to survive. Then we can also slowly see him phasing out and leaving way for the new generations of Pirates. We should also keep in mind that before Wano. The strawhats gained enough recognition to be regarded as a Yonkou level crew if the Strawhat Grand Fleet is to be included as well. Back then, even Black Beard thought that it was too early for Luffy to be recognized as a Yonkou.
The Appearance of The New Emperors
But now it seems like he has earned his way to the very top and seems to have mastered his devil fruit ability as well. The Wano raid has been intense, and Luffy played a big role by defeating Kaidou. Because Law and Kid did their part when they took Big Mom out, and now it seems like the leaders of these crews have all awakened their abilities.
For Kid and Law, it looks like they made sure that they went into this fight with their awakened abilities based on the flashback they had when dealing final blows to Big Mom. But even so, this was not enough to take her out, and they had to come up with other ways to finish her as Big Mom’s ability allowed her to cheat even defeat by using her lifespan to give life to the destroyed parts of her body.
But ultimately, we managed to see her defeat. Then with Luffy, we know that he does things out of his mind and does not think. All he was focused on was to find a way to get through Kaidou’s tough body. And he went one-on-one with Kaidou on the rooftop, and this time it looked like his devil fruit powers finally awakened just like he usually does in fights. For him awakening his powers in a non-battle situation probably would not have worked.
Because from his training, he was told that the battlefield is the perfect training ground where Haki develops way stronger and devil fruit abilities get awakened. In Kid and Law’s place, we would not be sure what kind of training they went to make sure they awaken their abilities.
The New Bounties of The Supernovas
In Kid’s place, maybe it happened while he went on against the Red Hair Pirates. We are not really sure why Kid went to fight Shanks, but it seems like it was some sort of personal vendetta that he had against Shanks. But knowing Shanks, he probably just gave him a beating and told him to get lost. But in the end, he came back with one arm, so that must be one situation where he was in a danger that might have led him to awaken his ability.
But as things stand, we are looking forward to the new bounties and who will be the new emperors of the seas after Kaidou and Big Mom were defeated. So we are looking at two new Pirates who will replace them at the very top of the pirate world. Looking at how things stand, we have had Luffy, Kidd, and Law as the captains, and the rest are just crew members. So if a Yonkou is to be decided, then it should come from them.
