A Girl & Her Guard Dog: Plot Summary

A Girl & Her Guard Dog follows the fifteen year old Isaku Sengaki, who is the granddaughter of a yakuza head. In the beginning of the first episode, we are shown that Isaku lost her parents when she was a child and she has been under the care of her grandfather ever since.

Her grandfather also assigns a personal guard to Isaku who took care of her and looked after her since she lost her parents. The personal guard is Keiya Uto, the male lead of this anime who is the guard dog in the series title. The problematic part between Isaku and Keiya is the fact that Keiya is almost ten years older than her, and she is infatuated by him.

Keiya is the typical bad boy yakuza with a dangerous personality who follows Isaku around to her new school. Isaku never managed to make any friends because of her grandfathers so she really wanted to get away from it. We see that Isaku chooses a school far away from home to get away from anything that will connect her to Yakuza.

The story begins when Keiya actually ends up enrolling in the school as a high schooler even though he is in his mid twenties. That is probably the most absurd thing about this story and he does this all under the pretense of keeping an eye on Isaku.

Isaku looked really uncomfortable at the prospect of her yakuza guard going undercover as a student at her school. Isaku is not happy about the situation but she is also shown to have feelings for Keiya.

Of course, Isaku finds herself in dangerous situations even inside the school and Keiya comes along as her white knight to save her. This happens in the first episode as well when Isaku is cornered by a student and Keiya comes as her savior.
