This causes him to completely lose all his strength and his soul then he gets transported into the body of a boy who was bullied into killing himself. His name was Kusanagi Minato. Atsumu, who is now reincarnated into this boy’s body, is shocked to see that he is living in the future 50 years from the past and that there is no magic needed in this present world to survive.
This world that he is currently reincarnated into is so peaceful and calm. Now Atsumu, as Minato, decides to go into the Kamui Magic Academy and learns that the presence of magic was only a thing that was present in the past, and now it doesn’t exist anymore.
While in the academy, he manages to defeat the bullies who would only brag about themselves and trouble other children; he gets a lot of attention and appreciation from the teachers and classmates. This act of Minato gets noticed by a girl called Mizuha Yuika, who is a noble magician girl.
Atsumu, after some time, realizes that “The Calamity,” which took place 50 years ago, is again likely to return because it was supposed to be defeated already. He comes to an understanding that he has been reincarnated as the “Great Sage,” who is the strongest. The story continues with his new discovery and sets a journey as a hero of the present world, Atsumu.
In the recent chapters, we see Atsumu helping Yuika train for the day of the magic duel and improvise on her magic craft skills, as she has a lot to learn and grow. She goes through a lot of training even though she falls down due to exhaustion every single time. After several days of training, she finally passes, and the day of the magic duel arrives.
Yuika is already surrounded by the media wanting to know everything about her training and how she has improved and many other questions. Atsumu wonders if this is a little too much attention the duel is getting because of the presence of so many journalists. But understands that it is because of the noble fight between the sisters. The fight takes place, and the two of them start to battle.

The chapter starts off with Ruka telling Atsumu that he is already too cocky for being so confident, having just a magic power amount of 100. The opponent now switches as Atsumu needs to battle Ryuji, who has a magic power amount of 8000. Atsumu understands that if he lets his barrier of magic power 100 down, he could very easily be killed.
But Kusanagi is very skilled and dodges all those attacks very easily and shoots his power right at Ryuji’s eyes which makes him blind, causing Kusanagi to win. Ruka can’t stand this and takes it upon herself to be the last opponent and has a magic power amount of 10000. She uses her ultimate skill of “Third Level, Azure Splash!”.
Everyone wonders how Kusanagi could dodge such an attack which is next to impossible to survive. Kusanagi being very tacky and brilliant, uses just his magic power amount of 100 and creates a way right in between the attack. Hence, he escapes from there and ultimately does the same trick of shooting his magic right in Ruka’s eyes, causing her to fall on the ground.
With that, Kusanagi is declared victorious, and he tells Ruka how hard her sister had been training for this duel and that her healing abilities are a sign of the hard work she has put in. They both have a good bond with each other when suddenly, a mysterious hole appears in the sky, and Kusanagi witnesses an abnormal magic power which is “The Calamity.”
