The Oni, a species of extraterrestrial beings, land on Earth to conquer it. The Oni give mankind a chance to compete for the privilege of the planet by giving them the opportunity to take part in a tournament rather than occupying it forcibly.
The contest is a version of tag wherein the player who is a human should touch the oni player’s horns in less than a week. Ataru Moroboshi, a lewd, unfortunate, and intellectually incompetent high school sophomore from the imaginary Tomobiki Town in Nerima, Japan, is selected through online means human player, and Lum, the child of the alien intruders’ leader, is the Oni player.
When Ataru discovers Lum, he changes his mind about participating in the tournament from his original hesitation. As soon as the match begins, Lum shocks everybody by taking off, and Ataru is helpless to stop her.
Ataru is encouraged by his love Shinobu Miyake, who promises to get married to him if he succeeds, before the tournament’s final day. On the last day of the contest, Ataru triumphs by snatching Lum’s bikini top, preventing Lum from shielding her horns in favor of shielding her dignity.
Ataru declares his happiness at being able to tie the knot as he celebrates his triumph, but Lum sees this as a wedding proposal and agrees during the contest’s live television broadcast around the globe. Lum starts to do living-in with Ataru notwithstanding the miscommunication since she is so in love with him.
Shinobu gives it up on Ataru as a result of Lum’s persistent interference, disregarding Ataru’s lack of attraction to Lum and his efforts to revive his connection with Shinobu. Nevertheless, despite Lum’s interest, Ataru continues to be flirty.
Ataru is subjected to ferocious electroshock strikes by Lum as retaliation for Lum’s effort to prevent him from mingling. His perversion and his terrible luck, which attracts to him all weird inhabitants of the world, the ghost realm, as well as the universe, are two of Ataru’s most prominent traits.
Eventually, ignoring Ataru’s protests, Lum starts going to the exact same school. Lum gains a following of followers among the male students attending the school, notably Shutaro Mendo, the wealthy and alluring heir to a major firm who is the crush of every Tomobiki female.

Urusei Yatsura Episode 8 Summary: “Transfer Student Close Call… Farewell Party Close Call…..”
Ran, a friend from Lum’s youth, arrives bearing a spirit of revenge. Because Lum was indeed the basis she didn’t obtain Ataru, she intends to kidnap him away from Lum. It was a very funny episode. Ran made every effort to entice Ataru to embrace her, but she was always unsuccessful. She would then remain to exact her retribution.
Lum and her father arrive at the headmaster’s office. She intends to apply to the institution. She enrolls in Ataru’s class. Time for the festival to hold, and Ataru discovers a recent transfer member. She goes by Ran. Ataru makes an effort to get to know her.
He is interrupted by Lum, who then removes him. When she sees Ran, she instructs her to contact her later while behind the gym. We learn that Ran is a fellow alien and a close friend of Lum when we arrive there. Both of them discuss their youth.
Lum is reminded by Ran of their early romance and the way her heart was torn apart. She explains why she came there in particular. She will succeed in capturing Lum’s affection and breaking Lum’s heart. Ataru is taken away by Ran at the carnival, and she attempts to kiss him, but Lum stops her.
Afterward, when playing, Ran and Ataru attempt to kiss again, but Ran kisses somebody else and uses all of Ataru’s vitality. Ran as well as Lum lay back for a stargazing date after the event. Ran becomes agitated once more as she considers her feelings for Lum.
As she is departing for her native land and planning a going away party, Ran calls Lum from outside the school and uses a robot to convey a message. She requests that Lum take Ataru with her. Ran greets them and provides them with some sweets.
Lum does not really consume the biscuits because they will put him to sleep but thinks them to be strange. Lum cleans the dishes in the sink. Lum believes that Ran has returned to her native world. Sadly, it hasn’t occurred because she won’t leave until she exacts retribution on her.
