MARRIAGETOXIN Chapter 25 will resume with the assassination business as we are done with the marriages in the previous chapters. So far, the story doesn’t take it too seriously, and the characters are two-dimensional in the story so far. But we see them getting layers of characterization as the story progresses and we learn how Gero is a gift to the assassin’s community. And one defining moment was when he attended a subordinate’s wedding to wish him well for the future.
But the story goes deeper as to why the community keeps Gero in high regard and how his presence has made a great difference. Hanamaki explains the family hierarchy and the power Gero holds being in the higher power.
The perception of the branch family members is to lick the boots of the main family, as per their words. And when Gero is introduced to Hanamaki, Hanamaki is introduced as a worm by his father. Gero knows nothing about Hanamaki at this point but speaks up for him. He tells Hanamaki’s father and his own that Hanamaki deserves human dignity just like everyone else.

MARRIAGETOXIN Chapter 24 was a short date between Kinosaki and Gero. Kinosaki has been more than willing to teach the ways of charm. It’s somewhat of a shame that these two are not gonna end up together, given their circumstances, but at the same time, they can’t.
