The Great Canadian Baking Show is a cooking-based competition TV show which premiered on 1st November 2017. It’s an official adaptation of a British television cooking show named “The Great Bake Off”. What is The Great Canadian Baking Show Competition?
The Great Canadian Baking Show is basically a baking competition with 10 nonprofessional bakers who participate from all across Canada. Each week they have to go through 3 challenges.
The “Signature Bake,” where the bakers have to show a signature baking style of their own, “The Technical Bake,” where the technical aspects of baking will be tested & “The Showstopper Challenge”, which is the ultimate challenge of the episode.
The one who shows his/her best baking skills & passes all the 3 challenges with the judge’s approval along with high scores becomes the star baker of the week. While those who fail to present their baking skills in all 3 challenges get eliminated & have to move out of the show. Here the judges play a crucial role in determining who should move to the next stage and who should be eliminated.
Recap of The Great Canadian Baking Show Season 6 Episode 3
The third episode of The Great Canadian Baking Show, also called The Bread Week. In Bread Week, all the contestants are tasked to bake a Flatbread along with a filling. In the Technical Challenge, they were given a task to bake a “Swedish Tea Ring,” which is basically a sweet yeasted bread that is usually flavored with some cardamom.
And in the final round, they were tasked to create an art-inspired Bread Work; they were allotted a time of four hours and had the full freedom to take inspiration from any of the artists and their artworks from any period or era.
The final challenge was quite a unique one as it not only tested their skills as a baker but also tested their creativity. In the third episode, Kristi became the star baker for presenting exceptional baking skills in all the 3 tests, while Nigel, unfortunately, got eliminated from the show.
