How To Watch the Resort Season 1? Let’s talk about it. Ever since its release, the Resort has been making rounds on the internet for being a runaway hit. This 2022 mystery drama is about Emma and Noah, who are a married couple on vacation at a holiday resort for their 10th anniversary. However, things take a mysterious turn when they come across a baffling 15-year-old mystery. The Resort can be marketed as a time-transcending, coming-of-age love story that is riddled with mysteries, with the most prominent one being the disappearance of a couple of teenagers back in 2007.
But what sets this series apart from the competition in this highly contested market is the execution. With the first half of the story set in contemporary times, audiences are treated to the dramatic issues the couple faces daily and how it’s making their marriage strained before the pair dives headfirst into an unsolved missing person’s case from 2007. As the pair starts investigating this town mystery, the timeframes jump between 2007 and 2022 in a well-directed manner. Making the audience invested in the characters.
Back To the Future!
To add to the authenticity, the scenes from 2007 feel that it is from the period than a forced one we are usually accustomed to. The series manages to pull off the time fluctuation rather remarkably. If anything, the series portrays the vibe of the era. Even though the audience is on edge throughout the scenes, the sense of familiarity and understanding of the era is spectacular. This is where the cast shines. Whether it’s Emma, Sam, Baltasar, or Violet, the personalities of the characters are vibrant and leave the audience wanting more. The movie/series aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes has lauded the series for having the perfect casting.
Set in Mexico, the beautiful yet tumultuous scenery gives a sense of impending doom. Just like the island in Shutter Island, or Hogwarts castle in the Harry Potter series, the location is perfect for the movie. And in this setting, throw in the mystery element that propels the story, and you’ll get the masterpiece The Resort is. There is something for everyone in this series. From laughs to shrieks to screams, The Resort manages to appeal to a wide range of audiences while retaining its authentic aura. And for this masterpiece, it works like a charm.
The premise of the show revolves around a dark mystery, but the mood is constantly lightened up by the quirky dark humor that follows the show throughout. It also makes the characters seem more authentic and rooted in the real world. The show, however, is best viewed without drawing major parallels to other shows in the genre. Because being unorthodox to a genre comes at a price: the viewer’s initial expectation. Once you cross this initial hurdle, however, the watching is pleasant as the story weaves itself beautifully.

The Resort is available to stream on the brand-new streaming platform Peacock. All 8 episodes of the first season have been released, and The Resort has been renewed for Season 02. Peacock is available exclusively to certain countries only, and the first episode of the series can be watched for free (provided you’re willing to put up with ads). If you’re already in these countries, you’ll need a subscription to watch the rest of the show. The series is also available to viewers who are situated in the mainland US.
If you’re not from any of the aforementioned countries, whelp. You’ll have to wait for the streaming service to spread its wings. Fret not, however. There are fun alternatives to this show that are currently streaming on Netflix, and we recommend checking out the series Murderville, Dark, Stranger Things, Haunting of the Hill House, and Boo, Bitch, as these are all stellar classics that are similar to The Resort. By the time the platform Peacock is made available in your country, you can build up the hype train by watching these amazing shows.
However, it is to be noted that very few series are out there that managed to pull off what this show has currently done. So, we could be looking at a new blockbuster series with the release of The Resort Season 2 somewhere in early 2024.
