Looking for a thriller, OCN Networks should be your go-to stop. The channel has single-handedly produced some of the best thriller k-dramas and almost all of them go under the radar. One such k-drama is the 2017 ‘Save Me’. It is the adaptation of the popular webtoon name ‘Out of the World’ written by Jo Geum San. The k-drama gained attention after Squid Game and Hellbound took over the world. While ‘Save Me’ got the recognition it deserved, many k-drama fans still have the thriller k-drama left unwatched in their wishlists. Still thinking if it’s worth the watch, here’s a small review of ‘Save Me’ to help you make the decision.
‘Save Me’ stars some of the most popular faces in the k-drama industry right now. ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ fame Seo Yea Ji plays the role of Im Sang Mi. 2PM and ‘Vincenzo’ fame Ok Taec Yeon plays the role of Han Swang Han. ‘Mad Dog’ fame Woo Do Hwan plays the role of Seok Dong Chul. ‘Arthdal Chronicles Trilogy’ fame Jo Sung Ha plays the role of Baek Jung Ki. The supporting cast of ‘Save Me’ includes Jo Jae Yoon, Park Ji Young, Kim Kwang Gyu, and many more talented actors.

‘Save Me’ Review: Is The OCN Thriller Worth The Watch?
If in the mood for a thriller that makes you feel everything from fear to excitement, ‘Save Me’ is a must-watch. Being OCN’s weekend k-drama ‘Save Me’ might be the first k-drama to talk about the issues of religious cults. It focuses on issues like religious extremism, bullying, corruption, and abuse of power and how it affects people in a negative way. Along with a tight narrative and a well-thought-out script, the k-drama also has an amazing direction and casting. As the episodes progress, Seo Ye Ji goes in the cycle of feelings like determination and rebellion to helplessness, frustration, and finally, utter desperation while playing her role.
But playing his role, Woo Do Hwan wins the show as he portrays his character as sweet, broken, and desirable according to the situation. The writers try to paint Han Sang Hwan as the leader of the group who comes from the classic privilege. He might also have daddy issues. The writers have done an amazing job in writing the villains. Very true to the actual nature and persona of the cult followers. All of them are driven by different motivations and are as compelling as they are hateful. Another plus point of ‘Save Me’ is the OST. One must give a try to ‘Endless Tears’ by Hwa Yo Bi, ‘Hallucination’ by The Vane, and ‘I Am’ from the ‘Save Me’ OST album.
