If you are even minutely interested in Korean Pop music, it’s impossible if you’ve never heard of iKON. The group iKON is as iconic as its name suggests. The song Love Scenario can be called an anthem of K-Pop music; it’s THAT popular. In case you are new to K-pop and want to know more about iKON and its members, you are at the right place.
The YG Entertainment group consists of 6 members (7 formerly) and is formed through a survival show. It was initially decided that they participate in a show called WIN: Who is next. But then the members went on to be participants in the show Mix and Match. The group debuted in September 2015 and was popular even before its debut. The group even had its first win at a music show. That too when they even performed live yet during that time. iKON became a phenomenon just after its debut. The group was holding sold-out concert tours and their albums peaking music charts.
In 2021, the group participated in the reality show Kingdom: Legendary War, wherein they competed against many other popular boy groups. In more recent events, iKON made a comeback in February 2022 with their EP Flashback. Like many idol groups, iKON’s contracts expire this year too. The reason you are here is to know more about the members of iKON. There are 6 members, namely: Jay, Song, Bobby, DK, Ju-ne, and Chan. Member B.I. left the group in 2019.
Jay
Jay was born on 7 February 1994 in Jeju. Currently, he is the oldest member (hyung) of the group. One of his charms includes speaking multiple languages. In fact, he is the best at speaking Japanese among all the members. He is so talented that his company compares him to the veteran BIGBANG member Taeyang. No wonder he is the main vocalist of the group.
Song
Song was born on 8 February 1995. His given name is Song Yunhyeong. He has confessed how he previously wanted to be an actor. But after auditioning, YG suggested he take vocal lessons. Song is the visual and center of iKON. Previously, he has been linked with Momoland’s Daisy. Reportedly they were dating each other, but YG Entertainment denied it, while Daisy’s label confirmed it, leaving netizens confused.
Bobby
Bobby was born Kim Jiwon on 21 December 1995. He was born in South Korea, but he grew up in Virginia, US. Bobby is also the winner of the reality show ‘Show me the money 3’. He is the singer-songwriter and main rapper of the group. His members claim him to be the mood maker of the group, as he makes them happy no matter what. Recently, in 2021, Bobby announced he had a girlfriend that he’d be getting married to. He further announced that they were expecting a baby. Bobby eventually welcomed their baby in September 2021.

DK
DK, whose given name is Kim Donghyuk, was born on 3 January 1997. He is the main dancer of iKON. He is also good at English since he has spent some time in the US as an exchange student. DK was a very good student. Hence it explains his status as an exchange student once. He won the JYP Trainee Search in 2012 and, in the same year, was scouted by YG Entertainment.
Ju-ne
Ju-ne was born on 31 March 1997. His given name is Koo Junhoe. He is the main vocalist among the iKON members. Ju-ne has previously participated in Kpop star season 1. In 2012, he entered YG Entertainment. iKON members claim that Ju-ne is very flexible, but he’s kinda not the most hygienic person to be around. But fans love him nonetheless. Fans are always curious about their ideal type too. Ju-ne has previously confessed how actress Kim Tae-ri is his ideal girl among celebrities.
Chan
Chan is the maknae of the group, born on 26 January 1998. He previously used to be under Kids Planet Entertainment and Fantagio Entertainment (2010-2014). Chan was quite popular before even debuting with iKON. He has played the role of young Lee Min-ho in Boys Over Flowers and The Heirs. He is also friends with Moonbin of ASTRO and Chani of SF9.
B.I (Former Member)
B.I. was born on 22 October 1996. He was the oldest member and the leader of iKON members. B.I. was credited with writing all the iKON songs, and he has written for many other artists even. These include groups WINNER and Whistle and three songs of Psy. In 2019, media house Dispatch released some of his chats from 2016, which claimed he was involved in the buying of drugs. After a while, YG announced that B.I. would be leaving the group because of the scandal and terminated his contract. In 2020, it was confirmed that he tested negative for drug usage. Now he is a part of IOK Company, where he is the executive producer. He even made his solo debut in 2021 with the album ‘Midnight Blue’.
