What is being manly? Does accepting your love for Ballet make you less manly? Or standing up for your passion and love regardless of what others think makes you manlier than ever? Junpei Murao finds his love for Ballet when he was little. Watching a man dance on the stage, the way he moved and swayed in the air, skipped a beat in Junpei’s heart. But, society thinks of men who do Ballet as less manly.

But, when Junpei was a kid, his father saw a spark in his eyes for Ballet. That made him let his boy follow his love for Ballet. But, soon a tragedy happened when Junpei lost his father. Being the only man in his house now, he felt the need to be manly. And society doesn’t consider men doing Ballet as manly. That made him drop his dreams.

What Happened So Far? Episode 3 “What Does It Mean To Be Manly?” Recap

Ruou Mori finally decides to come to join his school. But, he is getting bullied by Junpei’s friends. Junpei can’t even decide whether to help Ruou or not. He fears if everyone gets to know about his love for Ballet, then people might think he is not manly, which is not cool. And Junpei wants to be cool. He might have started going to Ballet classes again following Miyako Godai, but the moment he realizes that Miyako has a thing for Ruou, Junpei stops going to the Ballet classes.

But the bullying goes too far, when they all came to know about the scandal Ruou’s mother, Mazuru Mori was into. They tried making fun of him by making him wear a girl’s uniform and pushing him on stage, playing his mother’s song. But, Ruou started dancing instead. The only thing he knows, and the only thing he has of his own, Ballet. And soon, all the laughter turned into silence, and Junpei’s doubts turned into realization. He finally realized what he wants. Ballet is what makes his heart go crazy.

Now that Junpei is finally accepting what he always wanted and embracing his love for Ballet, we sure can expect him to give his all to Ballet.
