In a shocking turn of events, popular actor Bill Murray has landed in some major controversy! As the 71-year-old was busy filming for his upcoming movie, Being Mortal, production was suspended. It was further revealed that the unexpected suspension came after a complaint was filed specifically against the actor, alleging inappropriate behavior.
Comedian and actor Aziz Ansari is both directing and co-starring in the forthcoming movie alongside Seth Rogen. The studio giant has not disclosed any further additional details about the ongoing investigation. We are not aware of when production will resume.
Production of Being Mortal Has Been Suspended For The Time Being
Although Ansari and Rogen reportedly are not a part of the ongoing investigation, it has been reported further that the investigation will continue, and the next steps are being decided on. However, the cast and crew were informed about the production being put on halt via a letter sent out by the studio. The movie is loosely based on Atul Gawande’s nonfiction book titled Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End. While the nature of Murray’s role has not been revealed yet, it is rumored to be central to the plot.
This is not the first time the Ghostbusters actor has been called out for his behavior, as back in 2000, co-star Lucy Liu claimed that Murray made some unacceptable and inexcusable comments. Even Drew Barrymore weighed in on it, saying that comedians can be a little dark sometimes, and Murray just came in a bad mood.
Lucy Liu was not the only cast member from Charlie’s Angels who called out Bill Murray! Even director McG further claimed that Murray headbutted him on the set of the hit film. Earlier, Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss called Murray a drunken bully who allegedly threw an ashtray at his face. This incident took place when the two were working together on the 1991 film, What About Bob? Earlier, Bill Murray allegedly got into a heated physical altercation with comedian Chevy Chase on the set of Saturday Night Live. The actor has time and again landed in major controversies.
