The latest selfie and a picture that surfaced on Instagram this morning have become the talk of the town. Each time I open a story of my Army friend, I am seeing the same picture getting reposted. After all, the picture features BTS’s maknae Jungkook and the hip-hop singer Jay Park in it. Park posted two pictures with Jungkook, a selfie, and a full-length picture. The latter posted the picture on his Instagram feed tagging Jungkook and writing a really sweet caption below it. Although fans have had mixed reactions to the picture we’ll try to remain as objective as possible as we analyze the picture.
The picture of Jay and Jungkook has come out of the blue. Fans and netizens are left speculating if a collaboration between the 2 artists is on the way. In any case, the picture has been trending enormously on the internet. We are excited to see what will come out of this meeting. Let’s see the Internet’s take on this duo’s pictures.
Who are Jay Park and Jungkook?
JAY PARK
Jay Park (born Park Jaebom) is an American rapper and songwriter of Korean descent. He has lived and grown up in Seattle, Washington, and came to South Korea to pursue his music dreams. Since he wasn’t great at studies and hence he auditioned for JYP Entertainment’s global audition being held. Jay did so well on his audition and came to debut for the K-Pop group 2PM. The audition he gave just to get some monetary help, helped him land an opportunity of a lifetime. However, he had to leave 2PM due to his reckless comments from his past days about South Korea.
Although the misunderstandings were cleared, later on, Jay had already left for America again. Eventually, JYP also announced Park’s contract had been terminated with the company and it was mutually decided among the rest of the members of 2PM. 2PM faced backlash because of this and Jay Park received a lot of support. Since then, Jay’s career as a solo artist began and has been successfully thriving since.
Park gained global popularity as we saw him as a judge on Asia’s Got Talent. Personally, I saw Jay for the first time on the show. I took an instant liking to him as he seemed like a very cool and kind person. Jay has also won a lot of accolades for his contribution to the R&B and hip-hop industry. His latest song GANADARA with IU has been in the news and the song is being loved by the masses. Additionally, he also owns the Won Spirits which is a soju producing company. Soju is the traditional liquor of Korea.
JUNGKOOK
As for Jungkook, he is the youngest member of the world’s biggest and most successful boy band BTS. Jungkook is a multitalented artist who made his debut at a very tender age of 15. BTS didn’t have it easy. “Blood, Sweat and Tears” have gone into it, quite literally. Having gone through criticisms in their earlier days, the boy group has emerged stronger than ever. They are now looked upon as ideals for the younger groups. Everyone hopes to repeat the success of BTS. But the Bangtan boys are humble and are still always looking forward to improvements.
Jungkook is very popular among the young and old alike. He has the Midas touch, literally. Anything that the young idol promotes, wears, eats, drinks, even his fabric softener got sold out within minutes once they were revealed to have been used by Jungkook. He is a “Golden Maknae” on a lot of levels! Jeon Jungkook has immense popularity on social media, boasting over 37 million followers on Instagram. He even won the best “Instagrammer Global” award, when he wasn’t even on Instagram.
Jungkook is also considered a trendsetter because of his impeccable styling. His big boots and oversized t-shirts and all-black clothing is his signature style.

Jay Park posted 2 pictures on Instagram and Twitter writing a caption admiring the young idol. The caption read, “Bro is super humble ambitious, and talented. Can definitely see why they get so much love”. On his Instagram post, he also praises Jungkook’s boxing skills, about which we Armys are quite familiar.
The post and tweet look like genuine appreciation between the two, but some fans didn’t like this interaction. Given the fact, that Jay Park had written some problematic things in the past about BTS, fans can’t swallow the fact that Jungkook and Jay are together. Although the guys might have put those memories behind, the issue was brought up again too. Thankfully, a lot of fans came in support of both of them claiming Jungkook is an adult who knows better, we shouldn’t pass judgments on basis of things that have happened in the past.
BTS has had a history of dealing with harsh comments in the past too, but they have overcome them all, and they always stay winning. This interaction might be a sign of a new friendship and collaboration between two musical prodigies. Jay Park and Jungkook are individually too very similar people. They both know to go against the set conventional barriers and set new trends. I cannot wait to see what this meeting will unfold into!
