It has just been a week since the phenomenal kdrama ‘Twenty Five, Twenty One’ ended. And just like many of us, the cast of the drama, too, is still finding it hard to say goodbye. One such actress who has been thinking about her character while doing mundane things such as watching ‘Street Woman Fighter’ and doing her laundry is none other than the beautiful Lee Joo Myung, who stole our hearts as Ji Seung Wan in the drama. Additionally, Twenty Five, Twenty One is a drama that tells the story of five individuals and their journey to finding love and achieving their dreams from the year 1998, when the main leads are 22 and 18, to 2021, when the leads are twenty-five and twenty-one.
At the very brim of this layered storyline are Na Hee Do, a girl with dreams twice her size, and Baek Yi Jin, who, at his prime, lost everything and is now rebuilding his life. The drama was cooked up of all the ingredients that make a perfect drama. In a recent interview with Newsen magazine, Lee Joo Myung shared her own thoughts on the ending, what ‘Twenty Five, Twenty One’ means to her, and more. Lee Joo Myung Talks About Her ‘Twenty Five, Twenty One’ Character, Ji Seung Wan
Besides the obviously beautiful and witty storyline written by the brilliant Kwon Do Eun (Search: WWW), fans will never forget the characters of this drama. Each had a unique charm and contributed greatly to the plot. One of these amazing characters was Ji Seung Wan. Furthermore, at the beginning of the series, Ji Seung Wan is your typical high school topper. She is honest, hard-working, and also the class president. She and Moon Ji Woong have been friends ever since they were in kindergarten and always had each other’s back. Lee Joo Myung shared that although she had been to several auditions, she was particularly nervous about auditioning as Ji Seung Wan.
The actress further revealed that there was something in Ji Seung Wan’s character that spoke to her, and she felt like she had to get the part. Moreover, this is also Lee Joo Myung’s first main role in a drama. She has previously played supporting characters in dramas such as Missing: The Other Side, My Fellow Citizens!, and Check Out the Event. When asked what she liked the most about her character, Lee Joo Myung said that it was how Ji Seung Wan lived out her dreams while also fulfilling her duties. Lee Joo Myung also said that she found the ease with which Ji Seung Wan expresses her feelings very charming. Fans were also amazed by Ji Seung Wan’s character, especially when she spoke about how unfairly teachers use violence against students on her ‘DJ Wanseung’s Pirate Radio Show’. Ji Seung Wan has also earned nicknames such as ‘best girl’ and ‘girl crush’ because of her charms.
Lee Joo Myung Shares Her Thoughts On ‘Twenty Five, Twenty One’ Ending
If the show was blessed with boundless love when it aired, it received as much skepticism for its ending. A large number of viewers believe that the ending should have unfolded differently. Ever since the beginning, fans have had tons of theories. And as crazy as fan theories are, some even speculated about Baek Yi Jin and Go Yu Rim’s death. There was also the suicide note. When asked about the death theories, Lee Joo Myung stated that she was very surprised. She expressed that when she read the script, she found the story to be realistic and witty and would have never assumed that a character would die. She further expressed that the synopsis revolving around the suicide note made it even more interesting to her. As for her thoughts on the ending, Lee Joo Myung believes that it couldn’t be any more perfect and that she likes how the writer made it an open ending.
