The Power universe continues to grow, with many spin-offs based on popular characters from the original show in the works, as fans ask about the possibility of Power Book V. The series Power Book V: Influence, which follows Councilman Rashad Tate, is attracting a lot of attention. Rashad, played by Larenz Tate, is a former cop who became a politician, but he’s a criminal. Influence, like the other Power spin-offs, was introduced in 2020. However, only a few pieces of information have been revealed thus far.
Following the conclusion of the main Power series in May 2019, artist and movie producer 50 Cent announced on social media that four spin-offs would be released, each focusing on a different major character. It takes a lot of courage to promise four spin-offs to fans, but 50 Cent has never given up. For those keeping track, 50 Cent has already delivered three of the following spin-offs he guaranteed. Power Book II, Power Book III, and so now Power Book IV have all kept the Powerverse in a tight grip over the years. So the question remains: Will Power Book V ever be released? Here’s everything we know so far.
Rashad Tate’s Power Book Timeline
Rashad Tate is a significant character in the Power world, serving as the main nemesis in the original series, an anti-hero in Power Book II, and the central character in the future spin-off Power Book V. A shady politician is fighting for the position of governor. Tate has also served as a police officer in the past. In Season 4, he was a supporting character; in Season 5, he was an anti-hero; and then in Season 6, he was among the two tertiary villains. In Season one of Power Book II: Ghost, he is a small antagonist, whereas in Season two, he is an anti-hero. In Power Book V, he will be the primary character.
Power Book Season 4
Rashad Tate is noticed in James St. Patrick’s bar Truth; Ghost is told not to trust Tate since he knows how corrupt he is, but Ghost continues to work with him. Rashad, Ghost, and Dre arrange to meet in Queens, New York, where Ghost & Dre grew up, and the three have a press interview in the neighborhood. When Ray-Ray murders Raina St. Patrick, Tate advises Ghost not to seek vengeance and to let the police handle the case, as he plans to utilize Ghost for another press interview.
Power Book Season 5
Tate appears as the main antagonist in Ghost’s plotlines, and he uses Ghost to stage more press conferences, such as making Raina’s burial a public funeral and having Ghost and Tasha St. Patrick discuss their emotions for Raina’s death, and yet Tate is mostly using Ghost to gather support for his candidacy for governor of New York. Instead of Ghost, Tate develops an arrangement with Dre and appoints him his main man. Tate tells Ghost that he is removing him from the Queen’s Child Project as well as his governorship campaign. When Ghost plays an audio of his colleague Alphonse admitting to Rashad stealing cash from the Queen’s Child Project, he tries to blackmail Tate into staying on the Queen’s Child Project as well as his campaign.
Power Book Season 6
Tate is progressively approaching rock bottom as he drinks alcohol in a bar and visits his brother and his family. Rashad notices that his popularity is decreasing, and he is asked to back James once his appointment as county executive is announced. He summons the father and son hitmen Croop & Carter to travel all the way to New York in order to be rid of James. Tate, on the other hand, is inspired by his remaining loyal supporters and the news that James is now being questioned by the FBI. Tate meets with his buddies later and wants to cancel the hit, but Croop objects and Carter blames him for employing someone better.
Rashad continues to ignore it, but Croop informs him that if he doesn’t do the job, he’ll kill Tate. Tate finally agrees to kill Ghost. Rashad works his way to Reality, where he tries to tell James about the hit, especially since James’ kid will be present, but James’ nasty remarks prevent him from doing so. Later, he receives a call from Carter informing him that his father has died at the hands of Tommy Egan. Despite Carter’s warnings, Rashad ends the call, concerned. When he notices James, he notices Dre, who informs him of dirt on St. Patrick’s. He then notices Tasha and tries to manipulate her.

Is Power Book V Still Happening?
One thing is sure, and two things are certain: 50 Cent is a man who consistently delivers! Power inventor Courtney Kemp said in July 2021 that Power Book V is absolutely a go. Power Book V: Influence, in reality, was in pre-production at the time, according to Courtney.
In case you missed it, Power Book V: Influence tells the story of Councilman Rashad Tate and his quest to increase his political power. Councilman Tate has had one desire throughout the Powerverse: to be at the peak of New York City’s political class. Councilman Tate, on the other hand, is recognized for having one foot in the street and the other in politics. Councilman Tate has a few wins and a few losses under his belt, so his prospects of making his political ambitions a reality are definitely a gamble.
Power Book V: Influence Release Date
It’s no wonder that viewers are looking forward to seeing Councilman Tate’s tale grow in the upcoming series after seeing the depths to which he’ll go to have his way. Unfortunately, the show’s creators have yet to reveal the series’ premiere date. Although there is no confirmed premiere date, fans need not be concerned. With the forthcoming launch of Power Book IV: Force, the show’s creators will likely need some time to pick a release date and organize a press rollout timetable and other details.
While limited facts regarding Power Book V: Influence have really been revealed, the spin-off was announced in February 2020. When asked if the series was in development, Tate stated simply that it was not. Instead, they are working on Ghost Season 2. He also stated that the lengthy answer is yes. There has been discussion about it, but the priority right now is Ghost Season 2.
Power Book V: Influence Cast
Fans are looking forward to seeing Councilman Tate in Power Book V. In addition, there has been considerable speculation about who will be Councilman Tate’s opponents or supporters in his desire to join the political elite. The entire cast of Power Book 5 is yet to be announced. However, according to Courtney, fans can expect a revival of old characters to and from the series, as well as new faces, similar to the other Power Book storylines.
In a February 2020 statement, showrunner Courtney stated they’re modeling it like Marvel, where various characters pop in and out of other people’s series. So there will be crossovers, and some of the fans’ favorite actors will return, even if they don’t get their own spinoff. She also stated that they are seeking to do it for the fans, giving them the most of what they desire.
Crossovers have already been noticed, such as when Rashad was asked about his previous comments against Ghost during the First Season of Power Book II. To separate himself from the fallen drug boss, he lies to the police about his knowledge of Ghost’s illegal acts. Despite the fact that Davis Maclean was well aware that he was lying, it just serves to prove what Rashad will go to in order to win and be exactly where he wants to go.
What Will Happen In Power Book V?
Influence will follow Rashad as he attempts to gain political strength after the murder of James “Ghost” St. Patrick. Tate stated that he couldn’t say much here, no matter how much he wanted to. However, in a second interview, Power creator and producer Courtney Kemp revealed some further facts. They have this concept, she explained, that is actually about how Washington D.C. appears now for Black politicians.
Rashad Tate first appeared in Power Book Season 4, and as his story unfolded, fans found that the once-respected politician was actually a thief. St Patrick Tate got very depressed after losing the match to become New York’s next governor to his rival James ‘Ghost.’ However, in the series’s first spin-off, Power Book II, the character made an unexpected return, where he was aiming to rebuild his career in politics in the wake of Ghost’s death.
Tate said of Rashad’s fate, “He’s a really motivated person, there’ll be a bunch of hurdles and barriers in Rashad’s way.” However, he will undoubtedly be encouraged and motivated to focus on his goals and objectives. His brother will be present to remind him of his Tate heritage. So he has some mental work to do in figuring out how to get around some of the obstacles and roadblocks that stand in his way.
