It is a sad day indeed as Popular comedian Gilbert Gottfried has passed away. He was 67 years old. His family has further confirmed the devastating news via his Twitter account. His longtime friend and publicist Glenn Schwartz stated that the comedian was suffering from recurrent ventricular tachycardia caused due to myotonic dystrophy type II.
His family further remembered the comedian as the most iconic voice in comedy and was a wonderful husband, brother, friend, and father to his two young children. Fans also saw him in the celebrity roasts of Comedy Central roasts including that of Bob Saget, Joan Rivers, David Hasselhoff, Donald Trump, and Roseanne Barr. Comedian Dane Dane Cook mourned the comedian’s death saying that Gottfried was not funny.
Several Celebs Paid Their Heartfelt Tribute To The Late Comedian
Popular actor Jason Alexander soon shared his condolences as he penned down a heartfelt note saying how Gilbert Gottfried made him laugh at times when laughter did not come easily. The actor further wrote that although he did not know him well but loved what Gilbert shared with him. Academy Award winner Marlee Matlin also paid tribute to the late comedian. Conan O’Brien also recalled how seeing Gottfried perform in 1985 was one of the best experiences ever. Here’s Jason Alexander’s Twitter post as he remembers the late comedian.

The comedian did not only thrive in his career in stand-up but went on to be a part of the big screen as he starred in Beverly Hills Cop II,” “Problem Child,” “Look Who’s Talking II,” “And the Aristocrats” and many others. Gottfried also lent his voice as the scheming parrot Iago in Disney’s iconic animated film Aladdin. Gottfried’s voice roles included Kraang Subprime in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mr. Mxyzptlk in “Superman: The Animated Series, Dr. Bender, and his son Wendell in The Fairly OddParents, along with SpongeBob Squarepants.
Later in 2017, the comedian was featured in the documentary named Gilbert, which is loosely based on his life. He later co-hosted a podcast along with Frank Santopadre, named Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast! The two used to interview Hollywood celebs and legends.
