Very heartbreaking news is coming straight from the land of anime, Japan. There is another great loss to the anime industry. The great kid’s anime series Doraemon co-creator Fujiko Fujio has passed away. Doraemon is one of the most popular Japanese anime series that was initially released as manga. It belongs to the comedy and science fiction genre and depicts a totally kids-friendly trope.
The manga was written and created by Fujiko F. Fujio and published by Shogakukan publications. It was released in January 1970, and till 23rd June 1996, it gave out a collection of 45 volumes. The anime adaption of the manga was quite popular as it got dubbed into many regional languages for different countries.
Doraemon Co-Creator Fujiko Fujio Passed Away At 88
Fujiko A. Fujio is the pen name of the co-creator of the manga series Doraemon. His original name was Motoo Abiko, but he was popularly known by this name due to his collaborative work with Hiroshi Fujimoto. He was born on 10th March 1934 in Himi, Toyama, Japan. Although they started to work together, both of them also started to release their individual works that gained recognition all over the world. Their longest-running work is known as Doraemon. Some of his popular works include “Futa Kun”, “Ninja Hattori”, “Suri Z Men”, “Kaibutsu Kun”, “Warau Serusuman,” and many more.
After all the years of so many good works, Fujiko A. Fujio has passed away at the age of 88. The news about his demise was released early in the morning of Thursday, 7th April 2022. It was reported that he passed away at his residence in Kawasaki, Tokyo. At 8:40 am on the same day, a nearby Police station received a call that someone had collapsed at the residence. However, by the time the officers arrived, Fujiko A. Fujio was already dead. A police investigation on this matter is currently going on, and they have reported no suspicious injuries in the body.
