The concept was such that four colorful aliens lived in an alien land. There they were watched over by Sun baby (Jess Smith) and all they ate was Tubby toast and Tubby custard. The name ‘Teletubbies’ since each of them had an antenna and a screen on their tummy. And that screen connected to children all around the world, who shared their own stories.
The antenna and the colors of the characters helped kids identify who was who. The names of the adorable characters were Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po. Teletubbies Filming Locations
Teletubbies is filmed in two parts, the original from 1997 to 2001 filmed in a field in Stratford. Whereas the revised production of Teletubies (2015-present) took place in Twickenham Studios in Wimpstone, London. Evidently, the second part is the new and revised version of the original. And this version is the one streaming on YouTube and other platforms.
In Twickenham, the filming happened on a miniature 3D model instead of an open field. But that was not all! makers wanted to keep the revised version as close to the original. So, they created a similar setup in post-production, and the Teletubbies filmed around a blue screen. Obviously, the revised version had many improvements. Whether it is the camera quality or the work efficiency. Shooting on the field had drawbacks like weather control etc But indoor shoots will let you avoid that.
